Sigh...247 days to go until Team 121 takes the field.

An eternity if you ask me.

Edit: As the same from last year, I will include a stat or so per day as we go along.

QB Casey Clausen averaged 247.4 yards per game during the 2001 season.

Negatives/question marks:
Leadership? Dobbs & Barnett gone

RB: Kamara and Dobbs lost rushing yardage

QB: No clue what to think. Like Peyton, Dobbs took virtually every snap for years

Defense: No idea what to think, underperformed even before injuries.

Asst coaches: chance to upgrade or implode. hopefully cut some dead weight. Will someone teach a DB that their neck works? S&C improvement? Helfrich? Will he come? Will he be better? Will someone who likes to go even faster on O put even more pressure on a defense subjected to the SEC grind?

Schedule looks awful, but OOC schedule is good. Lot of time to prepare to GT's scheme.

Positives:

Several good players return and should have decent depth.

DL minus Barnett should be good if healthy.

John Kelly is a legit back.

Butch always has solid special teams

Malone and Jennings still great combo if Malone returns.

Evan Berry is back and hopefully will be used more than just returns

Daniel and Medley are back. I'd put Medley in the positive column for kickoffs and he's solid on 40 and less.

It'll be an interesting season for sure

Can't wait to see the final signing class of 2017.

Can't wait for the O & W game to see who the new leaders will be.

Can't wait to see McKenzie & Shy back playing at full strength.

Go Big Orange!!! Make all of VolNation proud in 2017.

I noted while looking at schedules that Alabama opens the season with 8 straight games before they get a bye. We are game #8. One can only hope they are feeling those other 7 games and are worn down when we play them (they play Arkansas the week prior to us, let's hope the Hogs have a punishing, grinding running game next year).

Next year would be awesome if we could beat ALL SEC opponents!!

The following year (1988) we started out 0-6 didn't we?
Majors was on the hot seat because of it. I hope no TN football team starts that way ever again. That was a rough year.

I remember that. I was 12. My dad sure was hard to live with. Lol

My apologies for not keeping up with this for the past couple of days. Work has had me ultra busy. So to make up for lost days...

245 days (January 2nd): During the 1927 season, the Vols outscored their opponents 245-26

244 days (Janauary 3rd): In 2010, QB Tyler Bray completed 244 passes for 1,582 yards
