Dobbs is second team offense;
Barnett is first team defense;
Evan berry is second team special teams.

Great work by these three!

For those wondering, Jalen Hurts is first team QB.

Dobbs should have been 1st team.

But wait - let me guess - "Debord didn't use Dobbs appropriately" and "Jones runs a gimmick scheme"

Yet, it was this gimmick scheme and play calling that allowed Dobbs to put up the numbers you brag about.

You need to choose which it is, you either accept the scheme and accept Dobbs success or you denounce the scheme and lose the right to brag about its success

Stop. We all love Dobbs but Hurts is big time and deserves to be there.

Meh. Hurts is good but Bama would still dominate without him. Dobbs literally carried his team throughout this whole season. He was a lot more to this team more than you think.

That alabama qb doesnt impress me. put pressure on him and watch the throws. now if you let him get past the line of scrimmage well thats another story. Dobbs would kick his punk arse

Debord, on many occasions, didn't use Dobbs appropriately. The numbers would have been astronomical if he was at A&M.

I totally agree but it seems like this stuff is stats based. And by that measure, Hurts definetly deserves to be there. You also have to figure him being a true FR doung what he has done is pretty impressive.

Malone was robbed, not Dobbs.

Could make the case they both were.

Malone should've definitely gotten consideration. 13th in catches, but 5th in yards, 2nd in yards per catch and 2nd in touchdowns. He had an outstanding season.

Dobbs should have been 1st team.

Could certainly make the case for him. However, numbers were very similar and Dobbs qb'd a very disappointing, underachieving 4-loss team. Hurts led an undefeated team as a true freshman and is the flavor of the month. Can see why he won it as well.

It's very interesting to go back and look at forum comments from the pre-season All SEC topics and to look at UT projected depth chats in late August. Tenn offense was predicted to be 2nd best in SEC and defense was middle of conference. Most comments from that time thought we were loaded on defense and the offense was suspect. As it ended up, many projected 3rd and 4th teamers were playing defense by end of season.

Dobbs should have been 1st team.

Bama bias (or SEC West) is strong. I'll agree with you here. Dobbs was way more important and impactful for his team than Jalen. Without Dobbs, UT would be up a creek without a paddle.

And how is Eddie Jackson a first teamer? Great player. But only 24 tackles and 1 pick. What in the world???

Boom Williams had the 5th most yards, 3rd highest average, and the same amount of TDs as one of the first team RBs. Yet not even 2nd team??? Even Snell maybe has a case to be 2nd team. He doesn't get to run behind some of the great OLines out west, yet he put up 1000+ as a true freshman.

Just goes to show, we didn't have any game changers for the entire year. Especially on defense. Injuries did indeed hurt because I think Tuttle, JRM, Kirkland and Sutton would of made that team if they would of stayed healthy

No Kamara? 13 total TD's. What a shame

If he'd rightly been given the opportunities he clearly deserved throughout the entire season rather than playing second fiddle to less talented, less productive Hurd, his name would've at least been in the conversation. Kamara was a victim of his own coaching staff's stubbornness.

KB I agree with your prior post except for your conclusion at the end. Looking back on it, Hurd wearing a green jersey continually before the season started, the way he was trotted out before the media on the same level as Dobbs was in Heisman mentions, just a lot of little things, looking back on it, I think CBJ and staff showed Hurd way more deference, placating, and coddling than it was in their being stubborn. It was almost like they were walking on egg shells having to deal with him, even the way things ended CBJ and staff did everything they could to give that kid a soft landing, not sure others on the team got that level of treatment. For sure Kamara was limited by Hurd being there and it turns out for no good reason.
