florida writers are jumping off the UF bandwagon after those 3 blowout losses to end the year. When butch takes over the sec east, mcelwain may not be around long down in gainesville.

He's not going anywhere. Blow outs or not, and I dont see that happening. The UF faithful have him locked in.

Not the guy the sports page had on yesterday. Had them at 10-2 with one of the losses to FSU.

UGA has a good young quarterback. So for the next 4-5 years, the best that ole Butter Teeth can do is third in the SEC East. He will probably be fired this season. Too many on-going player issues with the Gainesville Green.

They paid 7mil to buy out his contract at Colorado St., I don't think they can afford to fire him for at lest a couple of more years.

Why? If their boosters/fanbase perceive that they have fallen behind Georgia and Tennessee and they can't recruit against FSU, he'll be gone. The same thing would happen with any other coach.

You know he won 10 games and the East last year, right? Something that Butch, playing in the same division, still hasn't been able to pull off. He has more wins over UT than the last 3 UT coaches have over UF combined. He has the same # of wins over UGA in 1 year that Butch has in 3. If in 4 years his record against UT and UGA is 2-6 then yea, they will talk about firing him. But screaming "McElwain is a horrible coach" doesn't make it true.

Florida boosters have plenty of money to pay whatever it takes---they had to pay the incompetent muschamp millions in cash when they fired him---they can just jack up fees for fatcat boosters to get all the money needed!!

Are some of you suggesting that Tennessee is so bad that if Florida loses that game, Mac's job will be in jeopardy?

Tabor is currently campaigning to be the team captain, so that he can teach the freshmen "how to roll and shoot straight". Win or lose in Knoxville, Butter Teeth to be fired in November. No control over program.

Remember, we are talking about a school where a guy won two national championships. And then faked cancer just to get away from the jort wearing, mullet headed alumni.

Fooley Foley also quit in disgust. Dave Hart probably going there to clean house.

All IMHO

Wow, it really is crazy to think how similar last year's ending was to 2004. I was convinced Medley would nail the 55 yarder, and the streak would end by the same tally as the last time we won, 30-28. Maybe he's right, maybe the Florida jinx has been purged once and for all!

The florida writers IMO have set the glide path to accept a defeat by UT 120 that should be our third in a row against them rather than the streak ending this year. That said, McElwain will feel no heat if beat them by 1 or 100. His seat will become warm to hot if UGA's new coach beats him close/warm. If Smart beats him bad or a blow out his seat gets hot and next season's UF/UGA becomes a must win for him IMO.

We should have lost this games cos our D backfield was inept. Couldn't make plays. Sorry. Hurts to admit.
