Droski, I don’t really like you, but that is one of the most accurate comments you have ever made in this forum. And that my friend, says a lot!

1) The game is at home
2) we have more experience than UT does at key positions (particurally important it being the first game of the season)
3) Cal players will be pumped and wanting revenge, UT players will likely be overconfident
4) Cal has momentum going into the season while UT does not
5) Tedford has never gotten blown out by a team more than once (actually it's only happened 3 times TOTAL in 5 years as far as I remember). Nor has tedford lost in back to back years to any team, but USC.

well calling Cal USC's "whipping boy" means that every team they have played in the last 5 years is SCs "whipping boy." Texas being the only exception.

1. Correct, hasn't seemed to matter for Cal in the past against decent teams.
2. Experience matters most at QB and ours is not only more experienced, but better.
3. Yeah, we will be amibivalent, given it's our opener
4. Doesn't deserve a response due to absurdity
5. He won't be playing

1. Couldn't be more untrue - Cal was undefeated at home in 2004 and 2006 and beat the national champions at home in 2003. The only major game tedford has ever lost at home was SC in 2005 when our backup QB threw 4 ints.
2. Remains to be seen. But even if we assume ainge is better your passing game certainly wont be better the first game of the season with new WRs compared to our experienced studs.

1. Winning 1 decent home game certainly doesn't represent a trend.
2. Ainge is better and we wouldn't even remotely consider trading our receiving corps for yours.

I bet Phil would. We have two 5 star recruits starting at WR (including maybe the best WR in the country in desean jackson) and another guy who runs a 4.4 40.

by the end of the year, Jackson won't even be the best in CA and having guys that run 4.4s means nothing. Phil wouldn't even consider trading.

if you say so. A little comparison (2006 stats):
Desean Jackson 59 Rec, 1060 Yds, 18 ypr, 9 Td
Lavelle Hawkins 46 Rec, 705 Yds, 15.3 ypr, 5 Td
Robert Jordan 46 Rec, 571 Yds, 12.4 ypr, 4 TDs

Brad Cottam 14 Rec, 182 Yds, 13 ypr, 0 Tds
Lucas Taylor 13 Rec, 101 Yds, 7.2 ypr, 0 Tds
Austin Rogers 5 Rec, 69 Yds, 13.8 ypr, 0 Tds

You are right. Tedford would trade in a heartbeat.

This is the first game of the season remember. What group would you rather have?
