PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) A University of Tennessee football player is charged with sending material harmful to a minor and using a computer for a prohibited purpose. MacKenzie James Crowder, 23, was arrested Tuesday night. His address is listed in Knoxville, TN.
The statue says the prohibited purpose charge applies to a person who uses a computer to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice, or attempt to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice, a child or another person believed by the person to be a child.
The suspect is listed as Mack Crowder, an offensive lineman, on the Tennessee website. He joined the Tennessee program in 2011 but redshirted.
This fall marked Crowders final season with the team. The universitys website says he played in 11 games, starting three.
Crowders bond is $50,000.
The Court of Public Opinion should love this one.

Crowder has been charged with four counts of transmission of material harmful to minors and one count of violating Florida's Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act. He was free on bond

Investigators assigned to the sheriff's office's special victims unit say Crowder engaged in an online conversation with whom he believed to be a 14-year-old minor beginning on Jan. 21.
Throughout the course of various online engagements, Crowder sent four photographs of his sexual organ to the minor. Detectives also say that on several occasions, Crowder enticed or solicited the minor to engage in sexual acts with him.
On Tuesday, investigators say, Crowder made arrangements to meet with the minor at an undisclosed Pinellas location. There, deputies took took him into custody about 6:45 p.m.
