RECORD
2003 - 10-2
2004 - 10-3
2005 - 5-6
2006 - 9-4
2007 - 10-4
2008 - 5-7
2009 - 7-6
2010 - 6-7
2011 - 5-7
2012 - 5-7
2013 - 5-7
2014 - 7-6

With a 58% win percentage over the last 12 seasons, we have turned the corner. Looking back over that time there has been some lean years. Add 9 more wins this season and it goes up to 60%. Still not where we would like to be, but we are definitely trending upward.

Here's the stats of our QB's the last 13 yrs.
stats.jpg
I know we hear a lot about the productivity from out QB, but take a look at the stats for the last 13 years. The avg EFF is 127, The avg Completion% is 58%, and the Avg yds per game is 173. The INT's per year look to be around 8-9 a yr and Dobbs has thrown 5 so far. We have had 5 QB’s throw for over 2000 yds in a season during this span. Dobbs will get that this year.
What do you think?

People like to rag on Dobbs as a passer, but he's better than several of our previous QB's on this list at passing (Simms, Stephens, 08 Crompton, 05 Ainge, probably Worley) and is probably our best runner at QB since Condredge, with >500 yards and 8 rushing TD's. He's also done a good job keeping his picks down this year with 5, and at least 2 of them have been batted in the air and intercepted on ricochets. He's accounted for 2500 total yards this year, and more than twice as many TD's as turnovers, but hey, let's bench him and put in a freshman with minimal game experience amirite?

Doesn't our offensive philosophy and tempo effect these stats?

We get several more offensive plays per game now compared to previous years. Which gives our current offense more opportunities for yardage even if completion percentage and yards per play is on par with historical stats.

Those stats make Bray look like the best QB we've had in the last 13 years.

Bray had a ton of INT's but that comes with TD's also. But, that's the result of a pass 1st offense as it seems to have been then.

Don't bring rationality and facts up in here!!

Off topic, but I still refuse to believe we went 5-7 for three consecutive years. That didn't really happen, did it?

I'm more interested in the kicking stats. Still can't believe CJ Boleman never even got a look. He was so much better than Daniel Lincoln.

He was also better than Jr year Casey Clausen. The truth is only a couple of qbs have had better seasons passing at UT than Dobbs is having.

Its funny that in the thread with facts showing Dobbs has been one of our best qbs all his critics don't post. Any speculative thread they can trash Dobbs in is 20 pages long.
