RUCKER'S RAPID REVIEW
-helmets, shoulder pads and shorts today
-Josh Smith and Alex Ellis were back. North was there and looked fine.
-Preston Williams practiced with a long sleeve and brace on his knee. He worked with WRs and return specialists
-Quarte Sapp worked with safeties.
-Stephen Griffin was back Tuesday

CLAM CROWDER: Fifth-year senior center Mack Crowder was back on the practice field Tuesday after reportedly missing Monday’s practice after being upset that he’d lost his starting position heading into the season. Tennessee’s first-team offensive line hadn't changed from the past few practices, though. Senior Kyler Kerbyson was at left tackle, sophomore Jashon Robertson was at left guard, sophomore Coleman Thomas was at center, junior Dylan Wiesman was at right guard and sophomore Brett Kendrick was at right tackle, at least during the periods that were open for reporters to watch.

VQ QUICK HITS
-Thomas, Crowder, Robertson and Raulerson all worked at center
Preston Williams looks big, athletic and a potential difference-maker. Tennessee with Marquez North, Jauan Jennings, Josh Malone and Williams has to have one of the bigger WR groups in the SEC and likely the country.
-RBs worked on balance drills with a bungee cord around their waists.
-Jennings nearly made a brilliant one-handed catch and Pearson had a nice corner end zone snag.
-Max Arnold got significant safety work

INTERVIEWS
CN2gvbNWoAAb2gy.jpg:small

JANCEK: @jumper_53 has the consistency we're looking for at the MIKE linebacker.
JANCEK: Our young players have begun to build a more consistent performance. They're becoming more reliable.
JANCEK: Bowling Green has the ability to run and throw from a 4-wide set. They have a good short passing game.
JANCEK: Paul Bain brings depth to the scout team. He has a great attitude. The kids really respect him.
JANCEK: If you don't have depth and you have a team that's going tempo, it can wear you out. It can also tax you mentally.

DEBORD: I really thought today was one of our better practices
DEBORD: Kendrick has had experience at RT, so he has that in his back pocket
DEBORD: On Preston Williams - "Big receiver with great speed"
DEBORD: We talk about the power of the position. We talk about O-line being 9 strong
DEBORD: There's always unknowns. They have a new defensive coordinator. We studied what they did last year, what he did
DEBORD: Anybody can play at any time. Everybody's got to be ready
DEBORD: Quinten Dormady prepares the way Joshua Dobbs prepares

GILLESPIE: The thing we know that we have to do this week is protect the quarterback.
GILLESPIE: I want to get as many guys as I can in. We have the luxury of having a little depth, but whoever gets hot will play.
GILLESPIE: Bowling Green's DC creates a lot of problems because he likes to bring pressure. The RBs are embracing the opportunity.

MOSELEY: The team expects more out of me this year
MOSELEY: strength - I feel like I can hold the guys now. I've improved my jam
MOSELEY: It's a big atmosphere, somewhere we all want to be one day -- an NFL stadium
MOSELEY: (good pass rushers) help a lot because it shortens the time the quarterback has
MOSELEY: Other teams that play Bowling Green get tired fast. But we've been preparing for that
MOSELEY: Cam Sutton shows me stuff in the film room, he teaches me after practice and helps me with technique

AZZANNI: I'm confident Preston Williams can play on Saturday. I don't want to throw him to the wolves, but we'll see.
AZZANNI: Williams isn't where he needs to be physically and mentally. But none of our WRs were on Day 2 of their careers.
AZZANNI: @Hunnit0nmyway_2 (Pig Howard) continues to work hard. He knew what was coming down the barrel. He's been great.

Dustin Dopirak: A New Orleans Saints scout was in attendance at practice.

CN2mghnWcAAQ1yp.jpg:small

MALONE: I feel like with our talent and our size, we're a very talented group.
MALONE: I feel like I was a lot more consistent this camp. Just taking care of my body and doing what I had to do.
MALONE: I'm looking forward to playing at Nissan Stadium. It's always been a dream of mine to play there. It's a blessing.

CN2msIpWsAAyG-n.jpg:small

JENNINGS: I'm just here to do whatever I can do to make our team better. I don't care about the depth chart.
JENNINGS: Me being a QB, I already knew the playbook, I just had to learn the technique
JENNINGS: (on previous WR experience) only in the backyard with my brothers
JENNINGS: I love playing ball with my brothers. We used to play a game called 21.
JENNINGS: I studied Pig Howard a lot, Marquez North too
JENNINGS: I used to be a ball boy for the Titans when I was really really young. I'm familiar with the field.

Williams looks like he is moving around pretty darn good to me. He is a very large individual.

Our WRs are gonna be scary.

Marquez North - 6'3" 229 lbs.
Josh Malone - 6'3" 197 lbs.
Jauan Jennings - 6'3" 201 lbs.
Preston Williams - 6'4" 209 lbs.

Dobbs won't even need to be that accurate. Just throw it up and have these guys go and get it.

Do they ever post real video interviews with the coordinators and assistants anymore? I'm tired of this live blogging/twitter crud.

Nothing against you fingers....just the new UTSports.com format is terrible. I miss the youtube videos they used to post. I also miss Sara.

The level of athleticism on 119 is far and away better than any other team CBJ has coached to this point. I expect some big things this year. SEC east champs!!!!

Just saw the practice footage. Preston Williams looks absolutely gigantic. I was watching his high school film a few days ago and trying to figure out who he reminds me of. Then I flipped the TV to NFL Network and saw the Jets preseason game. And Viola! There it was. Brandon Marshall. Preston Williams = Brandon Marshall. Big physical WR with speed to beat corners over the top.

We got a beast here. I think he'll be solid for us this year as a backup WR. However, he should blow up in 2016 as quite possibly the best WR in the SEC.

Forget about just UT. Some of the guys we've brought in this year would be freak athletes in Alabama or Ohio State's camp. Guys like Preston Williams, Justin Martin, Kyle Phillips, and Kahlil McKenzie don't grow on trees. Those are NFL caliber athletes.
