TENNESSEAN DRONE INVASION
1. Drone invasion

A mysterious drone hovered above Tennessee's practice. It's unclear when and how the drone was procured, or how the Vols might utilize it.

But it's the latest example of technology's prominence in the football program. The Vols already have utilized GoPro cameras and have their own digital studio, which produced the team's signing day program.

RUCKER'S RAPID REVIEW
-Pearson back. No pads. Did drills with wr and pr. "made a slick one-handed grab (with no defenders on him) during some pitch-and-catch drills"
-STill no Crrom for the third consecutive day
-No Saulsberry
-Day two for Picou, still no pads until Wednesday.
-Again Jashon Robertson worked at center and Coleman Thomas worked at RT.

BYNUM: It was a scorcher today, but all you can do is embrace it. It's been a great week.
BYNUM: Overall, I feel like I can get better in all aspects of the game. I've been working pretty hard. I'm down from 245 to 230.
Bynum: I was around 245 pounds at the bowl game, and I'm down to 230 right now. I definitely feel quicker. #Vols

VQ QUICK HITS
Redshirt senior offensive lineman Marcus Jackson was absent from practice, as was freshman defensive back Stephen Griffin, who worked out in the weight room with a boot on his foot during the first full-pad workout of fall camp. A day after getting work at center, Jashon Robertson got a look at left guard with Jackson not on the field.

Some combinations we saw during kickoff periods early in practice:

Malik Foreman, Chris Weatherd, Rashaan Gaulden, LaDarrell McNeil, Evan Berry, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Todd Kelly, Emmanuel Moseley and Cam Sutton.

Justin Martin, Micah Abernathy, John Kelly, Quarte Sapp, Austin Smith, Dillon Bates, Elliot Berry and Darrell Miller.

BUTCH JONES
Live https://t.co/vS12wMb1mF
JONES: Everything in training camp is about your daily approach. It's a long process. I thought our players did a very good job today.
JONES: We have been extremely aggressive in installation. Our players are handling it well. We will not compromise our style of play.
JONES: There are a lot of players vying for playing time at MLB. But we want to play a lot of players. I'm pleased with the LB group.
JONES: Football is a year-round sport. We chart all our players' reps even through the winter and spring. So we'd like to have great depth.
JONES: The depth on the DL is evolving. We have some talented youngsters, but they are still learning to play at a high level.
JONES: I like @Tenn_Kenn's (Bynum) attitude and his leadership. His overall lateral movement has been much improved this fall.
JONES: I thought Von Pearson looked good. I was pleased with his endurance and his recall and retention from the spring.
JONES: We don't want to be a designer offense. We want to be an offense that's based off of execution.

Will the media still be limited to only 15 min, or is this a completely open practice/scrimmage?

Practice is never fully open to media the entire time. Every pactice has a set number of periods that media are allowed to watch. Sometimes it's only 2 periods sometimes is 7...either way, practice is never really fully open to us unfortunately.
