According to the Knoxville DA, there was "insufficient evidence" to bring charges against Pearson.

WBIR: BREAKING: District Attorney General will not charge #Vols WR Von Pearson, who was named a rape suspect in April

Grant Ramey: DA has cleared Von Pearson. Butch Jones said Monday suspension was both from school and football. Will have to be reinstated to both.

Jimmy Hyams: DA Charme Allen statement says that after reviewing the `entire investigative file’ regarding Von Pearson `I have determined that there is insufficient evidence to sustain a criminal prosecution’ v. Pearson in sexual assault allegation that reportedly occurred. Allen: `Pearson will not be criminally charged as a result of the accusation make against him’ April 24.

Awesome news, but now it's on the school to reinstate him.

Exactly. School judicial board could still find probable cause and enforce the suspension from school. He will need to go before the judicial board prior to reinstatement which means he likely still won't be back for a month or so, if at all.

That would be a huge mistake to keep him out after letting AJ and Williams back in after being charged.

Meh. His lawyer is throwing names around to help light some fires (finally). If the KPD couldn't find cause to charge him, then the school could be looking at a lawsuit in refusing to reinstate him. They could still continue their investigation but lift his suspension based on a lack of evidence.
