All SEC preseason picks

What a joke including Garrett over Barnett.. What part about having HALF of his (Garrett's) sacks against FBS opponents don't people understand?

It could've been that Barnett had 10 times the sacks and tfls and it wouldn't matter. These blithering idiots think Garrett looks more the part or something, wouldn't matter what evidence we have that Barnett was infinitely more productive with every statistical measure.

#UGA RB Nick Chubb received the most voting points (189) in SEC media's preseason poll followed by Hargreaves #UF -186 & Ragland #Bama 181

@McMurphyESPN
Somehow 5 voters didn’t put Georgia’s Nick Chubb as 1st team All SEC running back. Please identify yourself

Utterly ridiculous. Kid's a stud. We have a few posters on here who refuse to see Chubb's talent. Fair is fair. I don't get it.

Looks like NEOCON is getting his wish, we're being somewhat overlooked. Not badly, but fairly uniform across the board:
  • QB - Dobbs 3rd Tm behind Prescott (Miss St) and Johnson (Auburn) -- not totally unreasonable, but I'd have put him 2nd
  • RB - Hurd unlisted behind Chubb (Ga), Fournette (LSU), Henry (Bama), Williams (Ark), collins (Ark), & Drake (Bama) -- there are a ton of great RBs in the conference this year. Arguable, but not a huge slight
  • WR - none of ours listed -- not surprising, given the injuries/limitations of last year -- disappointing for Pig, though, statistically our best 2014 performer
  • OL - none of ours listed -- not at all surprising

  • DL -- Barnett 2nd Tm -- biggest mistake by the media -- Derek will prove them sorely wrong by season's end
  • LB -- Maggitt 1st Tm, JRM unlisted -- JRM seems to be flying under the radar, but that won't last the season
  • DB -- Sutton 2nd Tm -- Think he'll show them by year's end they should have him 1st Tm
Bottom line is, when we start winning against these guys' teams, our crew's stock will rise. By season's end, everyone will be pretty much in their rightful place. Brick by brick. Go Vols!

101 tackles, 11TFL, 2sacks, 1INT, and 2Fumble Recoveries. Sounds like an All-SEC selection? Nope. @Finally_Maybin left off all 3 teams.

@VolBlood 50m50 minutes ago
Laremy Tunsil made 1st team All-SEC at LT. The guy who Derek Barnett dominated to the tune of 10 tackles, 4TFL, and 3 sacks in one game.☕️🐸

@VolBlood
Sacks: Garrett 11.5, Barnett 10, Jenkins 5.TFL: Garrett 12.5, Barnett 20.5, Jenkins 9.5. Total tackles: Garrett 53, Barnett 72, Jenkins 70.

@VolBlood
Solo tackles: Garrett 29, Barnett 47, Jenkins 32. Statistically I'd say Barnett had the best year.

@VolBlood
That means if Barnett is involved in a tackle 65% of the time it will be a solo tackle. Garrett is 2nd with 55% and Jenkins 3rd with 46%.

I don't doubt Chubb's talent, he's still probably the top back in the SEC, but you have to give a lot of credit to their OL. He was running through holes you could fit an 18-wheeler through. And there's the sophomore slump, and new OC, and new QB, and yeah... it's preseason, so it doesn't really matter.

Chubb still made 1st team so how is it not fair? Barnett and Sutton OTOH...

You misunderstand. Didn't say it wasn't fair. Said "fair is fair" with regards to rival fans giving a talented, deserving kid his due.

Chubb based on last season's performance should be here for the preseason hands down agree. Can he do it again with UGA being a one trick pony due to new QB with questions at WR and new OC, I for one do not think he'll have a special year. Very good player no doubt about it, will be interesting to see how performs given a little adversity.
