meh...

Been hearing how UK was gonna catch us slipping for years now. Its happened once in my liftetime. Just drubbed their ass 50-16 last yr and they lost both NFL DE's. Same Defense. Aint happening this yr. For some reason thats one of everyones trendy upset picks about every year.

If we lose to Kentucky we have an issue. They may be getting better but so are we, and we are light years ahead of them at the moment. Last year proved that.

So they think we're incapable of winning an away game in the SEC. It's impossible to take that seriously.

I'm not that surprised about Florida. If we lose to them it's purely a mental thing. We've got them on talent and depth this year. The guy who made these predictions was on dope...South Carolina at 9-3...Florida starting out 5-0 and finishing 8-4??

Surprised at 7-5 because they include a win over OU and Georgia. overall 7-5 or 8-4 is realistic. as this example shows you will win some many don't expect and lose a couple you do.

Kentucky will be a dangerous road game (coming off of Alabama and going on the road again) because it has been so easy against them lately. Especially in conf. Those type of games happen to everyone when you least expect it.

hear this about UK literally every year. 28yrs Old and seen us lose to them 1 time. Last yr showed how far apart the two programs really are. Lose Zadarius Smith and Bud Dupree and now theyre magically better on Defense? GTFOH

So they've got us beating three 9-3 teams (UGA and SC, OK), but losing to KY Jelly? Yeah, that makes sense.

The head to head matchup was a mismatch last year (and always) but last year was not a lot different for them than tenn. They beat SC, had close losses to Florida (like us), and played Miss st. Close (ours was Georgia. Just missed that one win to make bowl.

but still lost 6 straight to end the yr after starting 5-1 against a bunch of creampuffs. Also gave up an avg of about 45ppg on defense in that last stretch.

I think we get to Bama 6-0. If so, our big tests will be them and Missouri. We could be a lot better than a lot of people think. To hell with tempering expectations.

That is only true if Jones is NOT the coach to lead UT back. What it will mean is that he will have failed at two key components of his own philosophy of the game. One, the Vols will have been HORRIBLY inconsistent to beat UGA and OU but lose to Ark, UF, Mizzou, much less UK. Second, the Vols will have simply FAILED to execute. They are more talented than any of the losses listed just above.

Championship players, coaches, and teams don't lose those games. They simply don't.

LSU, GA, and Tenn. ran away from them for sure, played mizzou pretty tough and almost beat MSU and Louisville in last game. That's a tough stretch for anyone.

if they get that UF game (deserved to win. Kick after time expired ) they are bowling and would have had a really solid season (esp. For them).

I saw 7-5 and was like well I guess it's possible. Then I clicked and saw he had us beating OU and UGA and still going 7-5. Not possible. If we be those two we are 9-3 at worst IMO

They won five games and only one was against a team that finished with a winning record... and they failed to make a bowl. Five of UT's 7 wins came against teams with winning records. UK's avg loss was 21 pts per game.

They weren't a great team last year and have not kept pace with UT since. UT should win and it should be no closer than it was last year.

Just remember Vol fans, Croom out ran their defense last year. He didn't take any amazing angles, he just flat out ran their entire secondary. Croom is far from our fastest WR

Lol no way we lose to UK. The others are understandable. I mean how do you have us beating Oklahoma and Georgia but losing to UK?? 8-4 or better
