I am making my first trip to The Swamp this year. I have only been to away games at UK and VU, both good experiences. I have heard UF fans can be really bad. Luckily, I am a student and will be sitting in the UT section. I am not worried just curious about your experiences. What are some of the worst things that you all have seen by away or home fans at any venue?

Carolina fans haven't been bad to me, good bit of ribbing but all in good fun. I've even sat on their side of the stadium and never had a problem with them. Sadly the worst experience there came from another Vol fan, he thought it was acceptable to cuss at and tell people they can wait till he's willing to let them pass by, one being my ol' lady. If not for her and his embarrassed gf he would've been beat up and down that upper deck.

The Darren McFadden ar game had an extra ticket, my dad gave it to the fattest fan I saw that day, my brother told him, next time give it to the hot chick. Taking the twin 2 yr old to the swamp this year hopping they will bring good luck and not be a jinx. You will have a blast the gators expect to lose. GO VOLS!

2003 in the swamp. I was there with my Brother in law and my 11 yr old Nephew. Me and the nephew were on our way to the concession stand and an ******* threw a cup of tobacco spit at us. A little bit got on me but it covered my nephews face. I stepped up the stands and the guy stood up to me as I got to him. I hit him in the nose sending him down the steps face forward. His buddy jumped up and I dislocated his jaw. I was then grabbed by security and other fans. They took me to the lower bowels of the swamp and put me in a small concrete block room. The cops asked me if I wanted to press charges and told me the other gentleman would not do so if I didn't. I of course did not and they escorted me to the gates and banned me from the campus and stadium.

Drove to Atlanta years ago to watch us play Georgia Tech. My seat was directly behind a 3 foot wide column.

They've gotten a LOT more tame since they outlawed passbacks at half time. Used to be you could hit the bars or tailgate to tank up for the second half in Gainesville.

I'd have to say my worst experience was at Commonwealth in 1995. My car got jacked up by some no account black lung strip mining border trash.

Peyton and Jeff Hall made sure all was not lost, though.

I went to UT Bama the year of the 5 overtime game in 2003. After the game I had to use the restroom. As soon as I walked in there was a UT fan draining the lizard at the urinal and a Bama fan walked up and punched him out cold. While he was taking a leak. Still to this day the dirtiest punch I've ever seen. It was diffused rather quickly and dude was arrested. Still makes me mad to think about it though.

I'm making my first appearance at the swamp this year too, and so far I've been to bama, georgia, vandy, and ole miss. Worst fans were in Oxford this past year, because of their record the hype was through the roof and the Grove was s***talk city.

2011 in the Swamp, the day was going great, found some "acceptable" Gator fans to talk to in a sports bar before the game and just hung out a while. Then it happened: Justin Hunter's ACL. Our day went downhill from there. We got thrown up on by a drunk guy directly behind us (unfortunately another Vol fan) who swallowed some of his dip, so everything came back up and splattered off the ground on to our backs. He got removed by the police, and his wife gave us $40 each to replace our shirts, so that was nice. ANyway, went back to another sports bar after the night was over, had a few beers and a pound of hot wings, then went back to the hotel, and I hit the biggest dang raccoon I've ever seen and caused $650 of damage to my front bumper, had to get it replaced when we got home). Got really drunk on too much rum, threw some pool furniture into the pool, went back inside and slept for a few hours until I woke up and vomited everything up.

And we lost the game with a negative rushing total.

So, all in all, I did most of the after-game damage to myself, minus the raccoon. The day in general just sucked.

I really didn't find the Florida fans too bad before the game, but I would NOT want to sit in their sections with them.

They are "confident" and let you know. Harmless fans. Even when we beat them they will remind you about their dominance. Gainsville is fun. Go to the purple porous and wear your orange!

I went to the swamp once while in college. It was the year they spanked us. We tailgated with multiple Florida fans and had no problem. Actually had a really good time.

Good grief. These stories make me want to stick to Vandy and Kentucky for away games.

I've never had a bad experience tailgating with Gator fans from North of Orange county.

Usually, there is an inverse relationship between the amount of hair product used by the male fans and awareness of Gator football before 1995. The chill factor slides evenly along those two key axes.

To determine same, I usually look to see if they look like they own stock in Vidal Sassoon, then ask them if they know who Kerwin Bell is.

Never fails to weed out the unbearable.

I have been to over 125 road games and have never had one bad experience if you exclude frat boys trying to curse under the influence. Closest I came was Miami at the Orange Bowl in 2003,the good residents of the projects next door weren't there after the game as they'd promised us to kick our asses.Good times.

Went to the last two florida games in the swamp. I didn't have any problems but I also refrained from acting like an ass. I think if you don't talk **** you will be fine.
