I added up the Maxwell watchlist members, Offensive POY, and the Bednarik watchlist members, Defensive POY.
The results (Below) were actually shocking... Take into consideration this basically excludes offensive linemen and special teams. There are no offensive linemen, at least in the SEC, on the Maxwell watchlist because obviously it is tough to see a lineman winning the award.
So basically I consider the list to calculate offensive and defensive play makers who have at the least an outside chance, in the award committee's opinion, of being the best player on their side of the ball this season.
Maxwell + Bednarik:
Tennessee: 5 (Sutton DB, Maggit DE, Barnett DE, Hurd RB, Dobbs QB)
Alabama: 3 (Henry RB, Ragland LB, Robinson DT)
Auburn: 3 (Johnson QB, Duke Williams WR, McKinzy LB)
Mizzou: 3 (Hansbrough RB, Mauk QB/WTF??, Brothers LB)
Miss St: 3 (Prescott QB, Jones DT, Redmond DB)
LSU: 3 (Fournette RB, Beckwith LB, Mills DB)
UGA: 3(Chubb RB, Floyd LB, Jenkins LB)
Arky: 2 (Collins RB, Williams RB)
Florida: 2 (Hargreaves DB, Morrison LB)
Ole Miss: 2 (Treadwell WR, Nkemdiche DT)
