They picked us behind Georgia and we play them at home. Vols have more hype around them for the coming season than anytime in the last ten years. We have been picked as high as number 14 in the nation and Dobbs was picked as 14th best QB in the nation.
Looking forward to this season more than anyone in a long time. We have the chance to beat a lot of teams that we haven't beaten in a while.

It was specifically ESPN's pre-season FPI, which is actually a different beast than a ranking system. But Tennessee was listed as #14 on that index.

I think all the rankings are fair based on the what each writer felt was UT's strengths vs. the competition. To be honest, none of us really know how good 119 will be, like any fan, I feel we have a good chance to go undefeated. Both sides of the line of scrimmage will be the tell all of this team, everything else is solid.

I don't know what I'm trying to prove with this, but it's interesting. I do think winning either 8 or 9, bringing in another quality recruiting class (it'll be smaller, I don't think top-5, but definitely top-15), and depending on who leaves for the NFL, we should definitely be ranked in the preseason starting 2016, regardless of where we finish in the rankings in 2015.

I see what you're saying here but what Pedigo was saying is 9 win regular season with 10 wins after our bowl game. I think a 10-3 season would guarantee us a top 12 ranking. A 9-4 season would probably be in the 15 to 20 range as your evidence showed.
