One simple answer, depth. Depth at a position that hasn't been healthy the entire year or has not been very effective. He would be a perfect backup to Dobbs in case he was to get hurt. Very talented and very experienced and a great stop gap between having to throw a young pup to the wolves in case of injury.

He obviously wouldn't come if the pitch is, come be our backup. Pitch is never that to any recruit. Never heard a coach tell a player that. Come compete and see where it takes you, every coaches' retort.

From Golson's camp, he wants USCe or UGA to be closer to home. Very seriously doubt UGA even sniffs him as their admin likes to be the snobs and kick cheaters out, not take one in. USCe makes perfect sense.

With the SEC rule, a waiver filed may have legs bc he still says he didn't do it. Not sure why that rule doesn't extend to transfers among SEC schools though, why would you want to keep cheaters in the league? Heck, Auburn wouldn't be able to field a team!

Can't happen...same SEC grad transfer bylaw that prevented us from getting McNight in basketball.

He has a better shot at going to Florida State or Houston. Apparently Texas is out

It would be nice to have him for depth, but he would not come to UT for the simple reason that he would not be the starter. There is no way he would leave Notre Dame as a back-up to go somewhere else where he would be the back-up.

You really think he wants to transfer to become a backup?? Not likely! He transfered out of ND because he lost his starting position. He wants to play and play now. He wouldn't do that here.

Highly doubt the OBC considers taking him. He doesn't have a history with really any transfers that I can think of and the OBC is very particular about how he wants his qb's to throw. The radio here in SC shot that rumor down immediately, still possible just not likely. I do remember he hated conner shaw running around out of the pocket.

FWIW I think LSU could be a place for him. Seems like they were the hot name last time he almost left and they don't have a good qb situation.

No thanks! I think it would take him too long at this point to catch up.

Not to mention he is a TURNOVER machine...

Apparently they did away with that rule. Jake McGee transferred to Florida and only had a year of eligibility.

It's not the years portion that I'm referring to...McKnight was blocked last year because he had a suspension...so does Golson.

mcGee had never been subject to discipline from the previous university. Golson is different. He was suspended from ND and was not enrolled for a while bc he was cheating. Thats pretty major. I doubt they let him in the SEC. He should prob go to Duke or something if he wants to stay close to home.

Firstly, he isn't allowed to transfer to the SEC. Secondly, even if he could, there's no way we don't start Dobbs and Golson knows it. Think about it...all offseason Dobbs has received all this hype. The team follows him as their leader and "CEO." Sorry OP but this is just not gonna happen and nor should it.
