About two months ago, I wrote a letter to Peyton Manning. I didn't talk much about football as much as I did about the off the field things he does. I wrote basically an appreciation letter for the charity he does and the service he does for others. I also mentioned how much of a Christ like example he is for so many people. I wasn't really expecting anything back.

But being the man he is, he did send me something back.

All Vols are "the man" or "the woman" to me. That is until one of you cuts me off in traffic; then you are just about a half notch above a bammer.

That's anything but creepy. It was a wonderful, true compliment, and one that I'm sure Peyton appreciates. The only "creepy" thing I've seen is your "creepy post."

Sorry, sending that compliment to someone that you don't truly know is seriously creepy.

Which is weird and sad? Peyton's following Christ or the OP's complimenting Peyton for following Christ?

the fact that you cant see how absurd it is to write a letter to a football player telling him that his actions are christ-like.

i am a huge peyton fan and have several personal interactions with he and his family. i love following his career and im a huge UT fan but i realize he is just a football player

So what if OP complimented him like that? Good lord, at least Peyton is a humble, good natured, well rounded, kind hearted, upstanding individual, who sets a good example for young men and athletes everywhere.

Look around you, Michael Vick, Ray Rice, Letroy Guion, Aaron Hernandez, these stories are far too common amongst college/NFL football players, and although I may not consider Peyton "Christ like," there is nothing wrong with telling him his actions emulate the teachings of Christ, because well... THAT'S WHAT THE ENTIRE RELIGION IS ABOUT.

What Does the Bible Say About Being Like Christ?

I'm not exactly the most devout Christian, but even I know it's what the whole thing is about.

Get off your high horse.
