Without "The Incident" fair statement to say we would have beaten Mizzou with a better prepared team oriented defense?

Hard to say, but losing AJ certainly hurt our chances at beating Mizzou. Though it didn't derail the entire season which is good.

Probably would've given us a better chance, but AJ wouldn't have been trying to block Mizzou's front 7, sooooo.....

What's interesting is that even if we had beat Missouri, we probably still would have gone to the TaxSlayer Bowl.

that's right, but at least Georgia would have played bama in the SECCG. That would have probably been a better game and could have changed the entire complex of the playoffs, if the dawgs managed an upset.

Missouri game showed the talent and depth difference between the 2 teams....it reminded Vol fans that the Vol's are just not quite there yet.....

The problem with the Mizzou game was that our offense didn't score a touchdown until the last 2 minutes of the game.

And a couple of turnovers.

Missouri was still likely the better team. Without the trick play that game isn't even close. Still having AJ off the field may have put more pressure on the safeties to help Jakob in the middle. I do wonder what we would've looked like defensively with him but the difference between their Dline and our Oline would probably still have been too much to overcome.

Our defense wasn't our biggest problem in that game and, even if it was, AJ Johnson wasn't worth 9 points.

No SEC in the playoff. Laws, the rednex would still be moanin' about it.
