Not sure which is quicker, but we will be driving through Atlanta. It's just the way we always go when heading to FL. Go Vols!

it's I-16. Yeah, I-16 to I-95 South is a straight shot. a boring drive. BE CAREFUL going through Brunswick! Glynn County is a speed trap.

According to Google maps, the I 95 route is slightly faster by 15 minutes.

What's more important to you, traveling through atlanta or 15 minutes of your life?

I think it truly depends on what part of Knoxville you live in. If you are in North/South or East Knox I'd go 26.

Only if you live in Farragut may you want to hit 75 S.

According to Google from Bearden HS it is 5 minutes faster and 5 miles closer to go 75. But like everyone said the idea of missing ATL is worth that IMO.

If you are coming from DT Knoxville it is 11 minutes faster and 12 miles closer to go through NC, SC.

Also I live in SC. From the NC line to 95 on 26 you can FLY!

Be careful when you get to Tifton, ga. It's a speed trap.

Just Tifton? Heck I-75 from Macon to Florida is a speed
trap. Some of the worst areas are in Turner and Crisp
Counties, several of the Tifton exits (especially exit 59)
and all of the exits for towns south of Tifton (Sparks,
Lenox, Adel). Given the time of year, I would not
recommend taking I-75 south of Atlanta. You will most
likely hit heavy traffic south of the Atlanta Airport (near
Jonesboro exits ~exit 228-220) and there is a lot of
road work south of Macon (probably have traffic
problems from Warner Robbins to Cordele). If you do
take 75 and have traffic problems, you can get off the
interstate and take US Hwy 41 until traffic clears. 26 to
I-95 is probably the best option for folks traveling from
Knoxville. Another good route from Knoxville would be
to take I-40 to Waynesville, NC and take Hwy 74 to US
441. You could then take 441 until you hit I-16 and run
into Savannah and take I-95 the rest of the way.
