There is a rumor that the school is discontinuing their football program.... If so, can we get a replacement team into Nashville for the season opener next year?

This was being discussed in the Around the NCAA forum a few weeks back. It doesn't look like UAB can disband its football program for atleast a few years.

UAB doesn't want to disband their program. It's actually Paul Bryant, Jr. and some of the other Alabama trustees that are determined to get rid of it.

That being said they're scheduled through something like 2017. So, it may be a few more years or it may be tomorrow.

If it were up to the Bammers and Bryant Jr every program in Alabama but the Crimson Tide would be disbanded.

UAB has a backup freshman offensive lineman Chris Hudson that's 6-5 280,a redshirt freshman Bryant Novick offensive lineman that's 6-5 315 and a sophomore offensive lineman Victor Salako that's 6-6 315
