I don't understand when we continually get stopped in our tracks throughout the course of the game why Dobb's just doesn't lineup in shotgun and launch the ball. He was getting killed last might. The other team sure had success passing long. That Jet Sweep only works fr so long against a good team.

We don't throw the deep ball well.....and our WRs can't catch the deep ball after getting little to zero separation.

Dobbs has zero time to pass down field. They were on him instantly.

Had UT rolled Dobbs out, he could have bought time for routes to develop.

It was coaching last night.....lack thereof from Bajakian.

Mizzou d line blew up UT O line all night and they were all over the snap count.

Our deep threat is out for the remainder of the year. Malone is a freshman and Croom is a TE playing receiver. We don't have one right now..

It is difficult to throw the ball deep when the qb laying on his back or running for his life.

It's really difficult to throw deep verticals when Mizzou was able to get almost instant pressure by rushing 4 and playing two deep safeties on each hash.

pressue was bad, but it also looks like the coaching staff has very little confidence in dobbs throwing ability. look at the end of the 1st half, with 3 TO's and time left, you should never take the knee without trying to score. dobbs is a better passer than the coaching staff believes, and he does really well with the 2min drill. he does better in pressured situations, the faster the better.

Our receivers dropped a lot, A LOT, of on target passes. Josh didn't have time to throw longer passes. The defense kept Dobbs in the pocket.
MO's defense was too much for us!
Next year will be better.

Might as well title this "kill the Quarterback". We lost Worley by doing what you are recomending.

.

Agree on the time issue. However If he rolls out, the field /options are cut down to 1/2 or 1/3 depending on his a ability. It's a tough situation.

I think he throws it just fine. Dobbs accuracy has always been on the short pass which seems to be improving.
I 100% agree that our receivers can't get separation and quit on plays.
It's a major flaw that gets exposed against good teams.

Offensively, this game looked a lot like the Florida game. They didn't want to throw the ball down field in an attempt to mitigate the o-line woes against a very strong d-line. Of course then the safeties can sneak up and LBs stay closer to home stopping our short game-wr screens, rb passes to the flat, running game, etc.

We adjusted in the fourth quarter but unfortunately it was too late. Probably would not have been too late had our receivers not had so many drops, including one dagger that fell into the mizzou db's hands. On the final drive, we didn't have those drops and scored a touchdown.

Next time, offense playcalling needs to adjust sooner (right after halftime), and players gotta make plays. Hopefully we are more efficient in timeout usage in the future and give ourselves at least one more shot (even if a long one) at the end of the game. We used them perfectly against SC and that is why we won.

how the hell do you set up for a deep pass when the mizzou linemen arrive a nanosecond after the snap gets to you?

When Missouri can pressure with only four down linemen then they can drop 7 into coverage. To throw deep, we would have to keep at least one TE and a RB in to block those four DL. That means we would have at most 3 receivers in the pattern. Our OL was incapable of even slowing down the pass rush last night especially when they would stunt. The line looked as bad as they have looked all season, but you have to give Missouri a lot of credit as those guys were pretty damn good.

This offense misses Josh Smith more than most would think. Malone could have developed a little more with a healthy Smith, Pearson and now North. Groom is finally finding his way. Injuries have come at the wrong time. Josh Smith was one of those guys that either got over looked or just had a knowledge of finding the open spot in a defense. WR is going to be a deep position next year. Once we get another year of recruiting and off season training. This team will start looking more lime an upper SEC team.
