According to the latest Sagarin ratings, we have thus far played the 2nd toughest schedule in college football. The only team with a more difficult schedule: Arkansas. That will likely change after next week, when Arkansas plays UAB and we play Alabama.

We fell to #30 in the actual rankings. Here's the current Sagarin rankings of all our opponents:

#1 Ole Miss
#2 Alabama
#5 Georgia
#6 Oklahoma

#26 Missouri
#27 Florida
#33 South Carolina
#51 Kentucky

#57 Arkansas State
#60 Utah State
#103 Chattanooga
#119 Vanderbilt

Kentucky finally got exposed this week against LSU. I was getting a bit sick of hearing about how incredible they were, based on a bunch of low-quality wins. Sagarin has consistently had Kentucky around #50. Also worth noting that the top 4 teams in Sagarin are all SEC West teams.

2nd toughest schedule and an inexperienced line. I just can't fathom what UT's problem in winning games could be.

Gotta win 3 more games. Don't care how. Just have to win them; otherwise, this fan base is going to run off some of our coaches due to placing CBJ on the hot seat. Last time this happened we end up with Big Sal who drew his playbook up on broken midline paper with crayons.

You should know better than to present facts on this board. Most posters are here are too ignorant to apply any kind of logic, reason or common sense.

There is no denying that the schedule is tough especially for a young team, but might as well get used to it, it's the SEC, it's TN for crying out loud. The schedule is always going to be tough, there's no whining about the schedule in the SEC because everybody's got it rough, quit crying about the schedule.

Agree with this. When you're one of the worst teams in the league, you're schedule is always going to be tough. Only solution is to get better and start pulling some upsets.

Oklahoma and Oregon not helping CBJ any.

We bought out 2011 UNC for Dooley and he still didn't make a bowl.

Thus the reason he's no longer here.

Dooley shouldn't be the measuring stick for UT coaches.

Why do we always schedule the conference champs? Why not Iowa State instead of OU? Why not Kansas instead of Nebraska in a couple of years? Why not Washington instead of Oregon? I understand schedules are made years in advance but you know these teams are gonna be good every year and we're in rebuild mode. The sec is tough enough without an OU on the schedule.

One thing about it, there is no reason to play a tough out of conference schedule with the SEC schedule and lifetime bama games. Hell FSU gets rewarded for playing no one all year. we would be golden.

FSU is in a weak conference, but they don't dodge tough out of conference games. They traditionally play a heavy ooc slate, heck, they play UF every year and played Notre Dame just last night.

I personally like a tough ooc game on the schedule. Ducking good competition should not be the norm for top program.

Because some fool hired Mike Hamilton to ruin our football program.
