On the road at the beginning of the season, our O-line did keep it together enough outside of the pick six and the drop TD pass..And we were running the football in the 3rd and 4th q. Just wondering...Is Ole Miss that much better on defense than Oklahoma?..QB play was good for GA..We were able to move the ball against OK and GA..For FL was our offense laying an egg just displaying the youth roller coaster of inconsistency? Seems like they have the ability to put it together..

Terrible question to ask this board ranks the play of teams do it's most recent game. People think our OLine is God awful. It is. But they've shown promise.

I think OU is better and that UM is overrated

Ole Miss' only weakness is Bo Wallace. In the first half against Boise St. he throws THREE interceptions. TN needs to study that game film.

Most of what ive seen and heard from ESPN and others is the opinion that Miss is one of, if not the best all around defense in the country. We'll see I guess.

Very good team but it's not impossible to beat them. Yes it will be hard to score points but if we catch some breaks and don't give the defense scoring chances (ie Pick 6 and fumble recoveries in our territory) this game could be a lot closer. Butch will have them prepared to battle and the boys will give it their all

I would disagree, they have multiple weaknesses.

1) No run game, ranked #85 in the nation.
2) Bo Wallace (we will be the best pass defense they have faced this season, ranked #8 in the nation.
3) Their return teams, both ranked outside the top 100 in the nation.

Keep them one dimensional on a long field and let Bo be Bo, I like our chances. That is as long as we protect the ball, punts aren't a bad thing.

Ole Miss has a good D, but Mr. Freeze hasn't been there long enough to recruit the amount of quality depth that we saw with the sooners. Those guys in the trenches were running 2 deep to keep their wind, even Striker took some snaps off. Ole Miss has talent, but not the same level of depth.

Every defense we play is different, so to say one is better than the other really depends on the weakness of our team, which in our case is the OL. Bama is physical and can blitz 4 guys and still get sacks against OLs way better than ours, but their secondary is terrible. Ole Miss is all around very good, and they have a great DL, something that hasn't bolded well for us yet this year. Talent wise, FL is probably the best. They have two CBs who will be starters in the NFL one day, and Flower Jr is the best DE in the country IMO. OK was fast, and CB blitzed us all game long. Stricker won his 1 on 1 with Thomas every snap, but who hasn't... If you had to rank the defenses though, Miss. St has the best all around defense in the SEC followed by Ole Miss and than FL IMO. AU. Is very good as well.

We had a different OL then than we do now. Pretty sure Thomas wasn't playing then and Kerbyson wasn't at LT.

Bamas defense will be the best. Ole miss is probably second best IMO. Oklahoma was good but I like the ole miss scheme better. Watch the ole miss tam game on YouTube. They hardly ever bring more than 3 or 4 rushers(keep in mind that will probably change vs us but why change what you've been doing so well)but those front 4 guys are relentless getting heat on qb. They're strength is the speed everywhere on the field and the scheme. Everyone is within 10 yards, they sometime have 5 over the top and switch to 4 over the top using their mlb. They will give you 4 yards, but you get hammered for it. They ball hawk and wait for the mistake.

Whose is better?

No one's. You were right. This is the best D we will face this season.

We need to hit big plays and win field position to have a chance.

We won't have a ton of opportunities to score, so settling for field goals won't lead to a positive result Saturday.

The ole miss D is faster than okla. , very good at limiting YAC and a good over-all tackling squad. They shut amari cooper down.

We are due to catch some breaks, seems like every break in a game that we have been in for the last 5 years has went against us.

I kept getting confused on if you were talking about Ole Miss D or our D. We can hold them just as well.
