I have been traveling the US for the past month, and of course representing my vols everywhere I go.

There has not been a single state or city I have stayed in, where I have not heard go vols by some passer by, or people I meet.

I know..cool story bro

But it is just good to know we are everywhere. Currently in salt lake city, UT and met two different vol fans just in my hotel alone.

Just thought I would share for those who might care.

Tennessee orange is arguably the most uniquely recognizable color in the spectrum of college athletics. On a return trip from Montana, I walked into the airport in Kalispell and a baggage handler spotted my Tennessee orange fleece jacket. Without my saying a word, he stated "you guys are a long way from home." When you can wear something as loud and proud and instantaneously recognizable as Tennessee orange, I am dumbfounded at the popularity of gray and black as alternate uniform colors.

Very cool! I got a "Go Vols" from a German guy in Munich that had a power T in his back glass on his Benz. He said his daughter was going to school at UT.

I'm sure a lot of you Denso guys remember Howard's grill in Kariya City Japan decorated ceiling to floor in UT stuff that we brought to him.

I travel (a lot) and have heard "Go Vols", or seen the wearing of the Orange T in: Tokyo and Naha Japan, Seoul, Korea; Dhahran, SA; Bangkok; Malabo, Equatorial Guinea; Paris, France; Munich and Frankfurt, Germany; as well as just about every state in the US.

North Dakota and Wyoming were devoid of the Orange, but there was no one there either.

Confirmed in China (All of it), Italy, France (& the rest of EU), New Zealand, SA, Canada and Mexico. Double confirmed in all States except Ohio. I'm banned there, but positive it's there too. It's everywhere!

Always travel with my Black hat with Orange Power T. Always. It has always been a conversation starter, more so recently and has always been positive...

GO VOLS

When Puerto Rico becomes the 51st state and we have to redesign the American flag, I say we just replace it altogether with an Orange flag with a giant power T in the center.

Just think about it... The Bammers and Jorts will have to wave it on 4th of July and Memorial Day..

This is what Heaven is like in my dreams..

Not many Tennesseans claim Memphis as part of Tennessee and I am from west Tenn. By the way, as far as I am concerned Memphis Tenn is more dangerous than Detroit Michigan !!!!!!! lol

I have often been to both Memphis and Detroit. While Memphis has places where I do not go, there is hardly any place in Detroit where I will go. I will take Memphis 10 t0 1 over Detroit.

I'm far from a Memphis booster but I admit it's gotten better. A decade ago the doormen at the Peabody would advise guests not to walk the few blocks to Beale after dark unless they were in a large group. Now it's perfectly safe although you may have to go through a metal detector checkpoint to enter Beale.

Do people from Memphis even consider themselves Tennesseans?

Nope. No loyalty to home state whatsoever.

Family members, H.S. coaches, and "advisors" too busy pimping their talented young athletes to the highest bidder.

Would give Memphis and all of Shelby county to Mi$$i$$ippi if it were up to me. Memphis is a black eye to the great state of Tn. IMO.

Yes we do actually. I've lived in Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis. There are a lot of old miss and Memphis tiger fans here BUT are a lot of vol fans. The problem is many other parts of the state do not claim Memphis for many uneducated reasons (racial history, poverty, etc). Actually Memphis is a very very progressive city racially. There are many cool things going on here in the arena of racial unity. Also Memphis is just a plain cool city. It's people are amazing, most philanthropic city in the state (proven by statistics) and has birthed BBQ, rock n roll, the blues and soul music. In a historical sense it is more of a music city than Nashville. Many here love the Vols. It is 5.5 hrs away which makes it difficult to have a vol culture like Nashville or cookeville, but there is one here. Go Vols. Tigers are junk, Ole Piss and freeze are Huston nutt part 2

This is a stupid comment. Recruiting here is tough in large part because it is more of a basketball city and does not produce per capita the quality football players that other cities it's size produce. This is true of all of west tn as well. Bama and Ole Piss being good also does not help. It is a city with some challenges BUT I've worked in mechanicsville and see some rough stuff in Knoxville. Memphis is not a black eye to the state. In actuality the nation sees Memphis in a lot better light than tennesseans. St Jude, fed ex, auto zone, Memphis red birds, some cutting edge non profits and churches. Sadly much of these type comments are racially based. I'm not trying to turn a football forum political, it's just insulting and idiotic to call Memphis a black eye
