Patrick Brown: From Tennessee's practice: Ethan Wolf only did some agility stuff -- light running and cutting -- on the side with a trainer.

Kyler Kerbyson worked at left tackle while true freshman Coleman Thomas continued to man the right edge of the offensive line.

Woody Quinn returned to a more active role on the practice field with the Vols' tight ends; Ethan Wolf worked but looked to have his mobility very limited. Trevarris Saulsberry continues to show progress and ran with greater flexibility and agility during some work to the side.

On punt return, both Devrin Young and Cam Sutton garnered some first-team reps. The Vols also worked extensively on their blocking in punt return, with D'Andre Payne, Emmanuel Moseley, Geraldo Orta, Devaun Swafford, Dillon Bates, Ryan Jenkins, Cortez McDowell and Max Arnold among those players getting work on the blocking unit.

elder: I expect ethan wolf to be ready to go.

It's worth noting, though, that elder chose his words pretty carefully in discussing wolf's status. He didn't outright say that wolf will play.

stripling: Jaylen miller is emerging as another guy who might be able to help us.

Grant Ramey: Consensus from Butch Jones, every assistant coach, every player that has spoken this week: There's no SEC comparison. OU is an SEC team.

Running back Derrell Scott and defensive tackle Trevarris Saulsberry continue to work their way back from injuries. Scott worked out with trainers in the pit in the early periods of Wednesday's practice. Saulsberry again wore a helmet and went through agility drills. Both are hoping to be healthy in time for the Vols' Sept. 27 game at Georgia.

Sophomore wide receiver Jason Croom continues to wear a green non-contact jersey because of a hand injury.

Maybe this is well known, but I just learned that Thursday is no contact day. Just meetings and film. Then 45 minutes work on Friday.
