Does Coach Majors go by "John" now?

I heard his interview on 99.1, and they called him Coach John Majors. This is not that big of a deal, but wondered if he prefers "John" over "Johnny".

By the way, he is 10 times more interesting than Coach Fulmer. He gives a heck of an interview.

He appreciates being called John as his proper name. Similar to the golfer Bobby Jones. His friends called him Bob never Bobby.

I met coach Majors for the first time last Tuesday. Very approachable guy. He struck me as a John.
