Good comparison for us?

So, here is Ole Miss' record from last year. I don't recall how many freshman played for them last year, as far as the starters and 2-deep went. But I know their class was heralded as turning around that program. For those that recall, do you think this is a good comparison (team wise, not necessarily schedule wise) for what we might see this year? They won a couple they weren't supposed to (Texas and LSU) and lost badly a couple of times, though they weren't trounced ala Oregon, Bama, or Missouri for us.

Opinions on this? I see similarities across the board.

Would be a great year for us and a step in the right direction for a 10 win 2015...

Edit - I hate associating "great year" with 8 wins

I've said this myself and agree with you.

Look with the recruiting development and attrition from the previous 2 regimes, as far as player talent we last year were very similar to ole miss before their ridiculous class.

They had a little more dynamic QB who can make plays is the biggest difference. Bo Wallace will also make more mistakes than Worley.

Could be a similar turnaround, and that would be a good start.

I don't see us competing in those 3 games the way Ole Miss did if we were to play either team this year (LSU/AU AND A&M).
Who did they lose badly to? AU and A&M by a combined 11 points. Mizzou did rough them up by 14, but it was not a blow out and they did win their bowl. If UT was ti finish 8-5 this year, it would be a miraculous year. It can happen, but 6-6 would be a good accomplishment for this team & 7 wins would be a great year.

yes - I think our schedule is tougher this year than theirs was, but yes - very similar in that a large, talented recruiting class came in

Eight wins = SEC COY for Butch.

Would be nice to see...won't be long now. :dance2::dance2:

Having not gotten into sports until my freshman year in 2009, I'd be okay with having an 8 win season and calling it a great year.

If you follow any of the experts.....were only going to win 3 games this year if we are lucky #COMPLETEANDUTTERBS

another interesting comparison will be to see how Ole Miss does this year, then that could be us next year - if that makes sense

OP, I've thought the same thing lately.
And yes, I'd be happy this year with a year like Ole Miss had last year.

Next year, however, I expect more.

Good post OP.
