A long time very famous old school SEC football coach was once asked about a new arriving recruiting class and he said, allow me to paraphrase please, laughingly that "Potential is a real nice word to use if they haven't done a damn thing yet" Then he went on to say that it would take time and a lot of really hard work and character on their part to ever reach any part of their potential.

There is one thing about it we got a lot of talent coming in the next few years, so if you miss one or a couple it want destroy the team like the last few years, when we only had 2 or 3 big time recruits and when they didn't pan out it was like what do we do, we will have the talent in the coming years to say next man up, wont be no big deal if we miss on one or to.

Potential generally refers to a currently unrealized ability. The term is used in a wide variety of fields, from physics to the social sciences to indicate things that are in a state where they are able to change in ways ranging from the simple release of energy by objects to the realization of abilities in people.

Team 118, Freshmen, strength and conditioning etc... Can't wait!!!

Go Vols!!

I've heard potential as "talent not yet used."
Like everything else, you have to DO something before it counts for ANYTHING!
