I don't think the Zook train has ever been on track.

However, I feel sorry for Coach Zook. We should help him keep his job and give him a big vote of confidence at the Zook-O-Meter http://gatorsports.com/apps/pbcs.dll/secti...gory=zookometer

Zook will probably be okay. The 2 games he's lost this season so far have both been come-from-behinds from the other team by a combined 5 pts.

The next 2 games could not come at a better time for Florida. The next 2 are the kind that help heal the wounds from losing a big one.

With MTSU and Miss State coming up, the Gators will likely be 5-2 and still ranked when they play the Dawgs in Jacksonville. Even with Zook's last two 8-5 seasons, he beat the Dawgs 16-13 in 2003 and 20-13 in 2002.

Florida has recorded a 10-2 mark against SEC East opponents, which is the best divisional record in the league during his tenure. Zook has also won five games on the road over top 11 teams, the best by any coach in the nation the last two seasons... wins over Georgia (twice), Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn.

And, he's got a good chance to beat Georgia again this year. Its in the Dawgs collective head. And Florida State is not looking so good this season in the games I've watched. Florida has looked much better and has a chance to end that streak. As much as I dislike Florida, I can very easily see them end up the regular season with a 9-2 record and go to a good bowl game.

Zook's record now stands at 19-12. 10 of those are regular season losses. Those 10 losses have been to 5 teams. He's lost twice each to Ole Miss, Miami, Tennessee, LSU, and Florida State. 4 of the 10 losses are to Ole Miss and Miami; and neither team is on this year's schedule.

I for one, would like Mr. Zook to stay as long as he would like to stay - watching the Gators slowly decay is a glorious thing.
