Are you sure on the 72? I actually thought the 69 estimate included the 3 newly added no? I counted 70 including the 3 but I may have missed a couple of previously added walk ons. I was hoping for 20 in August but that doesn't seem likely if even possible at this point.

Mentally, I had not removed Watson yet. taking him away number is actually 71 at this point..

No because we are limited by the SEC anyway and had them to spare. All class move here and has no bearing on this recruiting class that I know of.

It certainly does hurt the recruiting class. It takes three shollies off the table for this recruiting class. By my count the current class is filled unless there is further attrition within the roster.

Surely CBJ already knows a few more spots are going to open up. He hasn't stopped recruiting so he will make room for more then currently committed. There is no way he would have given them out in lieu of signing more Freshman. Still I can't help but wonder if the old staff didn't promise these kids scholarships this year.

Somehow the numbers will work themselves out in time for fall camp.

Played with West in high school. Not even one our 10 best players honestly. But, our team was loaded. Had several DII and DIII players. He was maybe the 3rd best WR (generously there) and the 4th best DB until his senior year.

He's a great kid and love him like a brother. but nobody at our school in the past 20 years was good enough to go DI in any sport (Except for Brynae Laxton who played for the vols in the 90's). Seems like a head scratcher to me.

As long as it doesn't hinder us signing a full class and filling needs at certain positions, why not.

If it does, bad move IMO. It's about winning not feel good stories.

You guys see the news today? According to Evan Woodbery these schollies are for the spring semester only (as sort of a reward). As a result, they will NOT affect the number of recruits we can bring in the fall (which they clearly would have).
