I'm betting we won't finish in the Top 30 of recruiting classes with this pathetic loser of a hire.

I'd rather we would have just made Chaney the coach.

Why couldn't we have gone out and hired a decent recruiter like Butch Davis or something? Or hired a proven winner with SEC experience like Petrino? Why are we getting stuck with a no name loser hire from up north with no recruiting ties in the South?

Man, this is about the worst we could possibly do. This just flat out sucks and is beyond depressing. Boy does it ever suck to be a Vol fan right now. :disappointed:

It's much easier to recruit to UT than UC. It's hard to recruit a kid to a place that struggles to fill a 35,000 seat stadium (when they're winning). I think it'll be a top 20 class.

Who's to say jones wont grab some osu Michigan and psu commits?

He knows the territory better than any recent ut HC

Funny that people flock to Strong as a recruiter but ignore that Butch Jones has outrecruited him. Weird how that happens. I guess he needs to be black.

Please calm down. I was frustrated also but just let the cookie crumble before you clean it up.

I'm not confident just because it's Tennessee that automatically means top 20 classes anymore.. I mean we have to go scraping the bottom of the barrel for coaches these days.. Something is fowl....

Oh yeah, well after we get pasted by UGA, BAMA, and UF again next year and the year after, we won't be about to fill a 35,000 seat stadium either !!!

He has 6, count them 6 3* recruits. We are in for happy times. Last year he was 34th in the nation. As a side note they (Cincy) probably have more respect and name recognition than Tenn.

We might finish top 20 (big maybe at this point) this year, but that doesn't really help us since we'll still end up 9th or 10th in the SEC.

Yep, that's what we're in for I'm afraid. We'll be out-recruited by every team in the SEC except for maybe Kentucky, and even they might do better.

They will probably do a lot better. You didn't have to Google their coach.

That's probably wishful thinking at this point.. I don't see it being that good honestly..

The #4 QB in the nation is now interested in Tennessee

Bring Tee and retain Jay and I think we finish 12-15

Are you kidding me? That is a nightmare of a hire. Dude can coach football, but his personal life and the fraud that comes with him. I would not touch with a 10ft pole.

If it sucks so bad, go back to a team that is winning you fair weather fan, more options for my seats at the game. I still am confused about how this is the worst we could possible do. Joker Phillips? He is a better hire?

You do know where Cincinnati is right? Do you think he only recruits north of Cincinnati?

Asiantii Woulard? Yeah he would be a great fit for Jones style of offense (he is the #1 ranked spread QB, #4 overall). Jones was recruiting him/offered him at Cinncinnati so they have a relationship.

Here are Cincinnati's recruiting rankings for the last several years (per Rivals):

2006 - 108
2007 - 89
2008 - 67
2009 - 60
2010 - 54
2011 - 49
2012 - 50
2013 - 54

Brian Kelly (who is now Notre Dame's coach) coached the Bearcats from 2007-2009. Butch Jones coached them from 2010-2012. So Butch Jones had noticeably better ranked recruiting classes than Kelly. In addition, you can see from these rankings that Cinci NEVER has highly ranked classes (unlike UT).
