in addition to hoping for an improved team

probably a pointless thread to most but im hoping all of us (including myself) on volnation can improve this year in terms of supporting the vols (both during the game and after) on the forums. yes, it sucks to post the records we have posted over the past few years and yes it sucks when we see our rivals in the SEC (esp. the jortors) do well/beat up on us but can we try to keep it positive regardless of the outcomes this year?

im not a sunshine pumper by any means but to me it doesnt do much good to post a thread saying Simms is awful or fire Dooley after a loss/bad performance. i try to take a step back and say these are college kids (some fresh out of high school) and they were the ones that chose to come to TN and put on the orange and white and bust their tails all year long in the weight room/on the field so we should support them no matter what.

I include myself in this bc I am just as quick to get upset after a loss but trying to turn this into a positive environment. if dooley loses to NC state, we say lets get ready to upset florida when they come to our house.

rant over

Good point! I'm guilty of being a debbie downer sometimes as well. Obviously it isn't easy. Coaching or playing.

That's a noble thought. Let me know how that turns out.

We can say that all we want, but if we aren't even good enough to beat NC State, there is absolutely no chance we will beat UF.

2 things.

1. Why bring up Simms? He doesn't play here anymore.
2. After a bad loss/performance, you expect people to ignore it and stay positive? People need to vent and some go overboard but that's what a message board is for and if it bothers you, then well...

I used Simms as an example of a post that I saw quite frequently last year. I am not saying you shouldn't/can't post frustration but IMO the overboard is more often than not and should instead be constructive

Criticism is constructive. It lets others know that we will not settle for mediocrity.

I hope to see better COACHING on the field... We have much better talent than we have in a few years, so let's just at least see what they can do.... So many questions at so many positions... I feel we have talent this year at least to go 9-3!!!
