It keeps getting repeated in the recruiting forum that a lot of recruits are in wait and see mode for whether Dooley and the staff are going to be here or not. It would be that but worse every year with Petrino. Every staff in the SEC would remind these kids daily that Petrino is one screw up away from being fired...again. |

Hard to convince parents that he will make their son a better person if he comes to play for him. Very few people out there who are as stupid as Ortha Peters family. |

I'd be shocked if he had any real credit left in recruiting circles or with a lot of coaches. I mean, how could you listen to a word the man says?
Zero interest in the guy. Just not worth the trouble or the PR hit. |

No thanks to Petrino, we need someone to turn things around the right way here. I think Dooley will pull it together. |

I also agree that I think all of this will be a moot point. |

| I would believe that the next choice for head coach if CDD is replaced would be the people's choice which is Jon Gruden. He would recruit Saben,Miles and Richt under the woodshed and bring home many SEC championships. If he still refuses the accept the Vols offer the the next logical choice would of course be Terry Bowden who is gearing up for a major HC job at Akron. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

If the worse happens this year(don't think it will) and Dooley is gone we have to nail down a coach that will be here 10+yrs. After the Kiffin debacle we just can't afford to risk it. BP's track record is not a good indicator he will be here for the long run.
Fool me once shame on you (kiffy). Fool me twice shame on me.(BP)
Maybe that doesn't happen and he is here for a long period of time and suceeds. Maybe not and you can just flush the whole thing down the crapper.
Not worth the gamble IMO. |

| I don't know much about Kirby Smart, but Robert Neyland was a defensive specialist too. |

Which shows just how good of a coach he is that he took 3* talent to #3 ranking towards the end of last year, a BCS bowl the year before and back to back double digit wins at a school that was mediocre at best before he came. He's a scum, but he can flat out coach and would win huge at UT. |
