| Another Stupid Summer Thread: VolNation Dreams Not a big poster but read every day. Last night I had a dream. In it I was reading VolNation and a new thread revealed that Pig Howard is actually from Rockwood (I live just outside Rockwood on Watts Bar Lake). Caused quite a stir. How stupid is that, VolNation in a dream. Any other VolNation dreams out there? |

| I dreamt once that 99gator, hileahgator and tide warrior got kicked off the board. But I live in a nightmare and they're here everyday. |

Lot of boat traffic for the 4th up by the park for the fireworks!

| I'm blessed to be living on Watts Bar, no doubt about it. Seldom, if ever, do I venture out on holiday weekends and after having nearly been run over several times after the fireworks, stopped going to them. Prefer the quiet week days best and October, ah, October. |

I avoid driving the boat around all that mess, but I did slowly cruise thru on the Sea Doo a few times because it's fast and maneuverable enough to avoid most dangers. I've only sat out on the lake once during a 4th of July fireworks show, and I have no intention of doing it again. My in-laws have a pontoon boat, and driving that thing back in the dark after a fireworks show is like getting caught in the middle of a race at Daytona mixed with the finishing race of a bass tournament. It's just crazy.
But I agree with you--nothing like sitting out on the deck in the early morning in October overlooking the lake and sunrise with a cup of coffee. (<--Wants It)
I usually stay at the house during all the home game weekends in the fall becuase it's so convenient.

| Volnation dream:
Seated at my computer one night, reading VN comments well into the wee hours of the night. I zoned out. My tired mind entered into slumber ever so briefly. Yet in that time I entered the organic virtual world of dreams. Sadly I woke up too soon but here's what transpired:
The wind was a hot dry breath swaying water starved trees,
The moon was a pale orb desperately trying to hide behind sparse leaves
I-40 was a black-grey length of asphalt, dressed in white bands and nothing more
Woodsmanvol came driving—
Driving—driving—
Woodsmanvol came driving, up to Neyland Stadium's gated door.
II
He'd a stetson-hat on his head, a red bandana covering his chin,
A well-worn dusty leather coat , and breeches of javelina-skin;
They fitted with never a wrinkle: his boots were Red Wing 988's and calf high!
And he drove a 1956 Chevy pickup bedecked in chrome twinkle,
His hat band was silver and also shone a-twinkle,
Yes, his hat and truck were a-twinkle, beneath star flooded sky.
III
Over the speed bumps he clattered and clashed in the dark parking-yard,
And he tapped with his fists on the gate, but all was locked and barred;
He whistled a tune through the bars, and who was a-waiting there?
It was Shirley in a skimpy outfit and another,
Shirley and a comely damsel, comely indeed, a Vols cheerleader,
Telling me they were making a pregame sandwich if I was up for the dare.
