Offensive line was pathetic last year

Tennessee O vs Florida D 2011 - YouTube

This is painful to watch. The snaps were awful, the line never hit a block or picked up a blitz. Justin Hunter getting hurt had nothing to do with the pitiful execution of the offensive line. Terrible.

Ive posted this before but the main problem with Tennessees Oline the last 2 years has been strength. Until Tns lineman get their strenghth to match their size nothing is going to get much better. Ron Mckeefery has to get some huge improvement in that area. Team bonding and pride are all fine, but until our O and D lineman quit looking like they have skates on.........

Who was the right guard in that game? Awful.

Football is a mental game as well as a physical game. The truth of this is no where better illustrated than by our loss to Kentucky.

Team chemistry and team leadership and team passion all play a major role in team success. It's not enough to be physically ready and know your assignments, although that is obviously also a key to success. Good coaches seem to be able to breathe life and energy and passion and confidence into their players and get the most out of them.

I want more than anything else this year to see a team that acts like they care. If they do, I think the wins will follow.

That video also shows direct evidence that stats do not tell the whole story.

People brag that our pass protection was really good, but the tape suggest otherwise. Just because there wasn't a sack doesn't mean that the pressure didn't result in a negative play. Anytime UF sent over three people, Bray was hurried.

It is also a learning area for Chaney.

Nearly all runs are from the I, nearly all passes are from shotgun. It is very predictable when watching all the offensive plays back-to-back.

They were really good at pass blocking. Hopefully they have the run blocking problems sorted out before the season starts.

It does show promise. They were holding on for dear life and we still made some plays. Imagine if we can become the aggressor on offense.

The video is not as bad as the one next to it: Tennessee's D vs. Florida O.

I still see 5 young men in Orange giving their all on the road in a hostile environment. I know its a business, and we're all frustrated with the running game production, but maybe we could hold off on the word "pathetic"..
