How many times will the Vols be on CBS in 2012 regular season?

I think our best shot for a CBS game this season is UGA. The Dawgs will probably be undeafeated and the Vols will either be the surprise team in the East with 0/1 loss or they'll be down 2 with the moving vans circling like vultures. Either way, I think it's a compelling game and A&M-Arky's SWC reunion is probably the only thing close to a marquee conference matchup that week. A&M will get more than their share of CBS games with that massive Houston tv market, but there's probably several better opportunities for CBS to showcase the Aggies.

The only competition for the UF game is Bama-Arky. Maybe CBS goes double header on that one. If not, do they select a matchup of 2 top 10 teams or the traditional East Division rivalry game between two embattled programs?

3rd Sat in October puts the Vols-Bama against A&M-LSU and SC-UF. SC will probably have 1/2 losses by then and UF may have 2/3 losses so I'm not sure how compelling a game that one will be even if the SEC East "championship" hangs in the balance. You might have a 1 loss A&M against an undefeated LSU team. I'd think that if the Vols are somehow a 1 loss team at this point, CBS will select them in a game where Bama will be a huge favorite but that oftentimes has been played alot closer than anyone would've expected beforehand.

SC-TN is another possibility but that one is going to be dependent on both teams' records. Unless Mizzou goes on a run, I'm guessing that CBS will show 1 of their home games and then the MO-A&M game to end the season so I doubt their trip to Knoxville will get top billing.

I agree that the schedule this year (at least on paper) makes it look as if UT isn't going to be on CBS as much. If UT wins, they'll get their games in CBS.

UT-UF won't be on CBS this year. But UT-UGA doesn't have a ton of competition (Ark-A&M, Bama-Ole Miss, UK-SC). And the Third Saturday has a great chance as long as UF is mediocre again.

CBS has already selected (& made public) its two doubleheader weekends and the weekend of Tennessee-Florida is not one of them.

Vols did beat them by 42 points in 1990. 56 would definitely break a record.

I'd prefer the UT-UF game be on ESPN at night anyway. It will be cooler and Neyland will be rocking under the lights. Go Vols!

After were 5-0 after leaving Athens, CBS & ESPN will be all over Dooley's nutz trying to get us on TV. They will be picking us like never before to win the East, which by the way, if were 5-0 after UGA, we better win the east. I expect this team to be 10-2. No worse than 9-3. We get that, we get TV.

I'm done with night games for the time being. All my friends in K-town are in thier childrearing years so my free places to stay dried up awhile back. I just can't justify dropping $600+ for the two night minimum at one of the clean hotels downtown and I'm not going to risk driving back to Nashville with thousands of drunks on I-40 in the middle of the night.

if you look at the schedule, our Vanderbilt game actually has a legitimate shot at being the CBS game as well.
