Are kickers so bad across the nation...

To where Michael Palardy can get put on an award watch list?

Quote:
Tennessee junior PK/P Michael Palardy has been named to the College Football Performance Awards' 2012 Specialist Trophy Watch List, announced Monday.

One of 30 candidates, Palardy enters his third season at Tennessee having converted 14-of-21 career field goals and punting 18 times for 665 yards.

Palardy has also made 38-of-40 extra point attempts and has accounted for 80 points as a Vol.

If Palardy is one of the 30 best specialists in the nation, I feel really bad for any special teams fans for this coming season.

It's like little league where everyone gets an award.

I feel like he may have a good year. One never knows with new coaches,a year older. He was just too good of a kicker coming out of H S to be off like he is.

To answer the op directly, yes, seemingly 98% of college kickers are total head cases and huge liabilities. Once in a while you get that guy you know will cut it in the nfl.

I would trade him for Auburns kicker - that kid must have kicked every ball out of the end zone last season
