Every time one is around .500 they are anointed as the next coming and 'walk on water' in the press for a year or 2, then are fired.

| I remember Vandy playing UT tough in games, with close scores late into the fourth quarter. But I also remember that our guys beat Vandy in all of those games except two. |

| I have the OP blocked, people need to stop quoting guys like that and feeding the trolls.
But this topic was redeemed by the Karate Kid II reference. So now I am ambivalent. |

| A close game with Vandy is not an aberration. Historically, they are like KY in that if they beat Tennessee it makes their miserable seasons. They played some close games with us even in the 1990s. The game was decided the last year we went to the SEC Championship game when Vandy missed a last second FG. Most games are blow outs, but that is not always the case even in our best years. |

| | Senior Member | Yes, 'tis true...Vandy is our biggest rival. They have supplanted Florida, Bama, Georgia, and even South Carolina as our biggest, fiercest, most hated rival.
It all started when James Franklin descended from the clouds to resurrect Vandy football, and beat us out for a 5-7, 170 lb RB that will make Percy Harvin look like he was running in snowshoes.
Rumor has it that there is a move afoot to rename our signature horses as "Commodore Walkers", and also to change the famous song title to "The Vanderbilt Waltz".
What's next, our sausage?
Oh, the horror.

I also heard that Franklin offered Lane Kiffin a GA position, since Lane's wife is so hot.
