Frankly, it is the attitude of disdain and arrogance such as illustrated in your post that has led to America being the most disliked country these days. And it isn't limited to Islamic nations and to quote you "some sh#t hole is SE Asia".
You'd be surprised what some of our so-called European and other allies say about us behind closed doors and sometimes publicly. Then when you look at too many posts like yours on VN, little wonder it mirrors the same disdain and arrogance many Americans exhibit to other nationalities. I think as a country we have no idea how many enemies we're making because of our attitudes. One day we WILL find out the hard way. The decline of our international prestige, economy, education system, military, and increasing social fragmentation parallels past historical empires with ancient Rome being an eerie similarity in terms of history repeating itself. Certain countries are salivating at the prospect of getting even, spurred on by attitudes like yours that feed their motivations.
The pity is that apparently our Vols appealed to some guy from a distant Asian country and he was spat on so to speak.
I for one would love to see our Vols attract an international following. It could translate into their being rabid enough to travel to Knoxville and feed the local economy with hotel stays, restaurant meals, UT ticket sales, and what not as they come to watch our Vols. Then take home their positive experiences and attract more to come see games and enrich Knoxville and the UT.
And possibly when some Vols fan from the good old USA is in their country and runs into a bit of trouble, gets help from, 'SURPRISE!' a Vols fan native to that country.
As a matter of fact, I have "contaminated" several foreign friends with infusions of orange blood.
In closing I offer a parable someone told me eons ago. Said a wise monkey to a foolish young monkey, "Be careful which monkey you step on as you climb up the tree, you'll meet them again on the way down."
OK, go ahead and beat me up for posting this. It's exactly what's to be expected.

Dooley compared his players to growing bamboo. That's what the reference is from. The other poster was being SARCASTIC. There isn't some poor, malnourished little boy, crying in some dark corner of Kuala Lumpur because the big bad American message board bully hurt his feelings. |

| The bamboo is growing, though I don't know if it is the right plant. TCU was apparently growing cocoa plants and they had great success. |
