Definition of MEANINGFUL
1a : having a meaning or purpose b : full of meaning : significant <a meaningful life>

The title with "Meaningful" in it. What is so meaningful about Ohio St.-Miami? What is so meaningful about Texas-USC?

I could possibly agree about Boise St.-Oklahoma and maybe Florida-Ohio St. but the first BCS Championship should be more meaningful than all of them. What a joke!

Funny to hear all the FSU fans still crying about the title game

while not memorable because of the score, the 1996 fiesta bowl should be on the list, and pretty high.

while the pac 10 and big 10 were not yet on board, college football had arranged for the two highest ranked teams (outside of the big 10 and pac 10) to play in a championship game.

instead of #1 nebraska going to the orange bowl and #2 florida heading to the sugar bowl, they met on the field for a true championship game. the "bowl alliance" was new and it was a big deal and eventually the big 10 and pac 10 got on board and the bowl alliance became the bcs.

some of the games on that list have no significance and were not meaningful in any way, shape or form to the landscape of college football. that one was.

as for the game itself, i don't have any recollection of what happened.

I bet you don't!!! Nebraska was awesome. Nebraska did the same thing to the Vols in 97 and we won the first BCS national title game in 98.

An absolutely GREAT run... Funny thing is, Frazier went to Bradenton Manatee High School on Florida's southwest coast. I saw him play once in high school. Just a stud with the ball in his hands.

Living near Orlando (behind enemy lines), that run gave me plenty of ammo against all the gators... Nebraska was all over Florida that game.
