Showed clips of the 98 championship season. Mentioned how we won the first BCS title and Alabama won the last (or most recent).

Poll: Who will be the SEC's surprise team? - SEC Blog - ESPN

I didn't want to start a new thread but there is a Sports Nation Poll for "Who will be the SEC's Suprise Team".

Pretty much what came out of it is that the analysts all said the SEC needs to move to a 9 conference game schedule.

Why don't we all play 12 conference games and no OOC games? We'll rotate the team we don't play every year.

Do you never want to play for another championship? Even the mighty Alabama couldn't survive 12 SEC games every year. No offense, but that's the last thing that will ever happen. Teams would be on their 4 QBs by November.

Hell, they won't even want to go to 9 because of that very thing...12 would be impossible.

You should never fear greatness or the hard work that it takes to achieve it.

Who fears greatness? The SEC can get 2 teams to the big show by playing 8 conference games as it stands now. There's also something to be said for working smarter, not necessarily harder.

I personally don't fear hard work. And as far as the conference schedule goes, lots of important people would be out of jobs if the SEC decided to play 12 conference games while the rest of the conferences remain at the status quo. What would be the most exciting for the fans is NOT driving the ship here.

Meh, less injury concerns. More the ADs won't because they'll lose a cash game and possibly money from 1 less home game, and the coaches (save Saban apparently) because they lose an easy win (and well, their careers are pretty much decided by their number of wins).

Most logical and rational post by anyone in a long time.
