| ive only seen UT play away at vandy....a ton of times...not really away games though. but my favorite vandy beatdown was one where it was like 65-0 or something really bad close to that in the mid 90s.
favorite/best home game is close, between the uf overtime win in 98 or the last second wilhoit field uf game in 04. those were both really awesome. i think the 04 game because i was sitting near a ton of gaytor fans and when wilhoit blew the kick with like 2 minutes to spare, all of the gaytor fans started up some mad trash talk and were doing the high fives with each other. and as we all know how it ended...and that was just priceless. probably best seats ive ever had too, in section S i think, and about 10 rows up from the field.
i was sky high (QQ) in the 98 game and not even in high school when the kick heard round the world happened. all i remember was being completely in shock, disbelief, and hesitating for a minute cause i thought it was a dream only to snap out of it and see everyone going apesh*t and charging the field. i managed to make it down as well, and that was really special. still have some of the grass from the end zone! |

| the fact that my two favorite home games 04 and 98 were against UF is a big reason why I am going this year. time to add a new favorite home game! hopefully with an epic beatdown on the gaytors! they are way overdue for one. |

away Georgia 98- they was talking alot of trash walking in, even Game Day crew picked against us. Fulmer came over, and thanked the fans in the open endzone because of all the noise we was making. |

I was 45 years old, graying hair, UT shirt, hat, shakers, etc. In other words, I was that guy in the middle of the UF crowd. Boy, was that fun the way it ended! | Couldn't agree with you more about the 2001 Florida game. Best sporting event that I've ever been to. ESPN game day there, Corso picks the Gators, Gator fans carrying roses into the game, they were shocked for the first quarter. The score was close but the game wasn't. UT fans stayed after and celebrated with the team and the band. We picked up the roses on our way to find Mr. Corso. Bought a cigar on our way to the game day set, and ended the night calling for Corso's head before ESPN went live.
I wonder sometimes if it will ever be as good again. |
