| N C State will be tougher than most on here believe.
Their DB's are solid and ballhawks that get alot of INT's and that could be a very dangerous situation for Bray.
Better runnig game and alot of shorter, ball control passes to keep the chains moving just might be what we'll be forced into doing by their DB's and even in the shorter passing game we'll still have to watch their DB's very closely.
A couple of INT's early on could unhinge Bray and change our playcalling completely and that could become a bad situation for us.
I expect a Tennessee Win but I'll be surprised if we sling it all over the field successfully and get a blowout against them.

Prior to that, we had some quality Oregon Duck fans the year before. Seems like you're going to be another quality opponent fan. Always good to see any visitor on any fan board having decent manners. Hopefully, Vols fans visiting your site have the same integrity. If not I hope your moderator locks them out immediately and permanently.
Questions:
1. What's the historical basis for NCST calling themselves the Wolfpack? Did NC at one time have wolves roaming its forests?
2. It seems you recruit as well as our current Vols team. In the past 3 years how many NFL draftees have you had?
3. How long has your current coach been with the team?
4. Is your team primarily a running or passing team?
5. What rituals are associated with your football team? Example, we have our Vols walk, band forming the "T", and of course Rockytop song.

Im a Vols fan, but I can answer a couple of those questions. NCST has several NFL players, most notably Philip Rivers, Mario Williams, and Adrian Wilson, and I think they've had 10 drafted going back to the 2009 draft. Tom O'Brien took over in 2007 after leaving BC. They also are a pass heavy team, probably as much or more than we will be this season.
Now, what worries me about NCST is the fact that they should be a decent passing team, and our pass rush and pass coverage may not be up to speed Aug 31. They also have a very good secondary, led by Amerson who had 13 ints last year. Thats more than some teams. Bray's biggest weakness as a passer is trying to force it too much and not reading the defense enough. That could spell trouble against their DBs. While their weakness may be LB, Im not sure if our strength will take enough advantage of that, as Chaney and/or Bray seems to be woefully unable to feed the TE. That being said, I say Tennessee 33-NCST 27.

| I dont blame our struggles in the Georgia Dome on playing in the Georgia Dome. We've lost our last 6 there, at least 4 of which were against clearly superior teams. That's what I chalk that up to. |

| I chalk it up to lack of preparation (LSU-Tennessee 2001; Maryland-Tennessee, 2002; Clemson-Tennessee 2003); terrible officiating (Auburn-Tennessee 2004). Although, I did believe we put up a good fight against LSU in 2007, just didn't have the depth, but we had a chance to win that game until Ainge's pick in the 4th. |

I hope the game is close, tough and physical. I want the game to be a test that instills confidence and character. I want us to win by 1 point in five overtimes. I then want NCSU to go undefeated in the ACC.
I might die of a heart attack (I am a UT grad and my dad is an NCSU grad).
The reason is that playing an inferior team does nothing to build confidence or character (in fact it might do the opposite). I want us to get tested, to be forged of steel by the time UF rolls around (and beyond). I would rather the game be close and victorious, and for the guys to have a nose-to-the-grindstone work effort, than to blast NCSU like the cupcake some are predicting. I would rather hear the "you almost lost to NCSU" but beat UF, UGA and USC then "you beat the hell out of a terrible ACC team, and floundered in the SEC".
I want the guys to know, in their soul, when they play vastly superior opponents that they can "pin their ears back" and get it done. I want our Vols to be like Leonidas and his 300 at Thermopylae (well except for the whole being overran and slaughtered thing).
Just my two cents. | No longer possible.....would have to be 2, 3, or 6. |

Wasn't asking for speculation on the game score or team comparatives but hey! you're a Vols fan so to be expected I suppose. Seriously thanks for answering my questions.

| I could agree, however I do think that Maryland, LSU in 07 and Auburn had better teams those years. We shouldnt have lost to Clemson or LSU in 01, and if Ainge didnt dabble in drugs so much we may have won in 07 haha. But the Auburn game, while it may not have had the best officiating, I can remember a long TD run by Riggs that was called back b/c of a stupid block in the back by Hannon. We didnt help ourselves with the officials any. |
