| CP signed with UT knowing that we have 2 studs that will be in front of him at the beginning. He could've gone to au or uga and immediately been their #1 guy... That's saying something! I believe he's thinking that this offense could prove to be VERY special if things go according to plan, and he knows he wants to be a part of the air show in Knoxville. |

Based on what we've seen and what we know it is hard to come to the conclusion that this team is better than seven wins. If the D plays ok, we can run the ball even a little bit, and special teams don't get us beat maybe UT squeaks out 8 wins. If we win 9 or more Dooley should probably get a one year extension. |

So you think there are 5 losses on our schedule? UGA, Bama, and SC are most likely losses, but that leaves 2 more, between Mizzou, UF, and Miss St? We lose 2 out of those 3? Really? I think we lose one, but can't decide to which one of those 3. I call 8-4. Please explain your 7-5 for all of us homers. |

There is one very likely loss: Bama
There is one very likely win: VU
There are two probable losses that we could win if we get some breaks: UGA & SC
There are four jump balls: NCSU, FL, Miss St, Mizzou
Assuming we can win two of the toss-ups that does get you to 8 wins and probably at least 3 conference wins. All I'm saying is that based on what we've seen it's very possible UT gets one of those toss-ups and if that's NC state it implies a 2-6 SEC record. I hope I'm wrong and to be fair UT was a handful of plays away from being a 7 or 8 win team last year--but this is the SEC.
Basically I'm saying that I'm not comfortable with assuming more that 7 wins, especially with how atrocious special teams are. I hope I'm wrong because if UT can legitimately run the ball then 9 wins are possible because UGA and SC are beatable... |

| Your "jump balls" just made me sick to my stomach.
NCST, really????????? They are freakin NCST for pete sakes!
Miss St, come on man. Im all for giving Dooley a fair shot to turn things around but at some point, especially when you have the offensive weapons / returners we have, he has got to be expected to win against a team like Miss St because we will have more talent on the field. Anything less is totally accepting mediocrity.
The fact that you dont put VU in the easy win column tells me that your worried about the abilities of this staff to get the job done. No way in hell VU shouldnt be considered an easy win, piss on Franklin, you are giving him way too much credit.
Have some confidence in this years team because they are going to be good unless the coaching is absolutely horrible. I know it hurts when you have high expectations and they dont come through (we've had enough of that lately) but now is the time. These guys can win big this year, its time for us as fans to start believing it and its time for this team to start believing it!!!!!!

It makes me sick that South Carolina came in to Neyland Stadium last October and won as if having "Carolina" on their jersey's was enough of a reason--still makes me want to vomit. I agree it's sickening. I'm just saying that at this point it is a bit optimistic to assume a team that went 1-7 in the SEC last year (and had to win in OT to get the "1") is going to win 3 or 4 SEC games. Hopefully my tune changes around 11pm on the night of 15 September--it's certainly possible.
... And about Miss St. Do you think last year's team would have beaten them? Granted, with a healthy Bray, Hunter and decent running game UT should be the favorite. I just think calls for a nine win season includes extrapolating A LOT from what we saw last year--save for Cincy. |

| -save for Cincy
Sadly Cincy is about all we can base our hopes on. The rest of the season was shot after Hunter went down. When we were healthy we beat a pretty good team (cincy) the way a UT team is supposed to. JMO, but I think we wipe the floor with NCST (14 pts) , the way we are supposed to beat a team like NCST, kinda like Cincy last year. Our offense has the ability to be that damn good IMO.

I think the D is gonna be the best we've had in nearly 10 years. |
