Its kind of like how people will take a verse out of the bible and use it in the wrong context to their advantage when it really doesn't have anything to do with it.
I used the analogy on DD because it takes more than a HC to win a game, it takes players doing their job. It is the job of the coaches to prepare the team to win, it is up to the players to go out execute the game plan and that just did not happen.
General Neyland coached Monday thru Friday and come gameday, he watched and seldom made any coaching decisions aside from field goal or to go for it. Times are much different today than what it was back then but the remaining factor of coaching the kids and the kids going out and doing their job remains the same. Unfortunately for us we still do not have a roster where we can pull a player that isn't performing to expectations and have a suitable replacement. |

DD on the other hand has had to try to do more with less and for some reason some don't seem to grasp that concept. You are not going to win in the SEC with Freshmen all over the field, especially when we are talking about key positions.
I have been a fan of the Vols for over 40 years and have seen the good and the bad. Our roster was terrible and is just now starting to show an upswing. I do not pump sunshine nor do I bash DD but I do understand he is given this chance to prove himself and straighten out the mess he inherited. | The team quit on him. That is not a good mark on CDD. I asked the following: Quote:

You used flawed logic to rationalize the position that Dooley wasn't to blame for anything that happened in the KY game. I asked if you supported the Fulmer dismissal. You said you did. I used the same flawed logic that you used to rationalize Dooley's responsibility re: the KY fiasco by asking how many downs Fulmer played his last five years. I used that flawed logic on you to highlight the hypocritical nature of your rationale. In summary, you are trying to use one set of criteria to defend Dooley while dismissing that exact same criteria in the Fulmer situation. Can't have it both ways. Consistency when taking a stance on an issue is central to one's credibility. You weren't consistent; thus, your credibility is lacking in this matter.

| Dooley should definitely be in there, but maybe not #1. I agree with most of this list.

We have the talent and schedule to win at least 8 games, 9 games if some things fall our way. If we don't I hope they fire him. Sure he could get away with 7 wins if we beat the likes of Bama and FL but slip against a Missouri or NC State. But 8 is the number for me UNLESS we win 8 but lose to FL, BAMA, UGA and USCe. He MUST beat one of these 4 and beat two of the four could afford him a loss to one of the "should wins" below. NC State - Should WIN Could Lose
G. State - Must WIN
FL - Should WIN Could Lose
Akron - Must WIN
@ UGAy - Toss up... mark as a LOSS
@ Miss. St. Should WIN Could Lose (this is one of those that you have to win)
Alabama - LOSS
@ USCe - Toss up... mark as a LOSS
Troy - Must WIN
Missouri - Should WIN (another one that we can't sleep on)
@ Vandy - Should WIN Could Lose
UK - Should WIN So that's: - 4 Must Wins (G. State, Akron, Troy, UK) we lose one of these bye bye Dooley
- 1 Should Wins (Missouri)
- 4 Should Win, Could Lose (NC State, FLA, Miss St., Vandy)
- 3 Losses (UGAy, Bama, USCe)
8 or 9 wins easy... no?
