I wasn't referring to you.... So what's that say about you? j/k

I would've listed every one of them I deemed trolls in my post, but every time I mention their names, one of the mods deletes my posts. Go figure. But anyway, you weren't going to be in my "list," FWIW.

You may do it for that reason, but it's a hard sell for some of these guys. You can't deny the existence of trolls on VN.

And, I understand and agree with you, I just tend to be more laid-back about it from the standpoint of, 'what the hell does it matter what I say on a message board? It is what it is" mentality. I think that's where I come across sometimes as a Doolander. I like him, I really, really do (no homo) and want him and our program to succeeed; but, I too am ready for significant progress. I just try to include all the reasons in my mind for our lack of recent success, which many others view as excuses.

And no offense, but I enjoy your posts mostly because (usually) you seem to try to keep it as objective and real as possible and not set yourself up for disappointment by expecting acoomplishment of lofty goals for our team. I think I'm the same way, I'm just a little more laid back about it, which is why I get frustrated at some of the things you say. Apologies.

And people like you and Fade are reason I feel sorry for Dooley. Like spoiled little babies with your fist balled up, stamping your little fee, screamin "I WANT IT NOW". I know you guys are irritated, I am too, but you also choose to ignore how bad it truly was. The program was in total shambles. Not even the greatest jewelers can polish a turd. Don't worry though, you will probably get your wish.

On paper, we have an offense that should compete with any team in the country, bar none. On defense, if Georgia is a predictor, we will probably struggle this year. Read Coach Matthew's comments in "The ChalkTalk". As a result, we should beat a lot of teams this year but probably not enough of the "right" ones to compete in the East. That is fine because all signs point up for Tennessee Football and that makes me excited. Personally, the only way that I see Coach Dooley getting fired is if we have a collapse like last year or we get handed our helmets by the "Big Three" (Florida, Georgia and Alabama). Per Matthew's comments, Hart was hired to fix Tennessee Football. It is only going to be "fixed" when we begin to regularly beat Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Throw in South Carolina for good measure. Beat those three regularly and everything else falls into place.

Did you support Fulmer's dismissal? If so, how many downs did he play in his last 5 years?

I don't think Dooley should be fired immediately. He has 2012 to prove he can get it done. However, absolving the head coach of his responsibility for the performance of the team he is paid to be responsible for is one of the most ridiculous, no it is the most ridiculous, assertions I have read here. Using your logic, no coach should ever be fired for any on-field results...unless they actually played a position. This is the height of niavety.

In re to your avy: Every time I drive past this exit in Hendersonville, NC with my wife, I look at her, and ask if she would like to go visit her mother.... It went over like a turd in a punch bowl the 1st time I did that.

False. The Mythbusters have polished a turd.

It wasn't bad enough that the loss of one receiver should have caused us to have a losing record and lose to UK to the first time in over a quarter century. Nor is there an excuse for there being a stretch last season where we went a month or more without scoring a TD in the second half. That's laughable when you consider that MTSU was a part of that stretch. I understand that people WANT Dooley to succeed, but IMO thinking he WILL succeed essentially requires a suspension of ones disbelief and the ignoring of all tangible facts.

I agree with your sentiments earlier that Dooley will no doubt leave the program in better shape than he found it, but that's doesn't mean he'll leave it in good shape either or that he will be winning any championships. The recruiting simply hasn't been good enough to win championships.
