I actually agree with this.

So those against it would rather not have a "what if" a team sits their best players because they are "a lock" to be in the top 4 (very, very unlikely) or "what if" they possibly go to 8 or 16 teams far in the future vs. "what if" an undefeated team out of a major conference doesn't have a chance to win the national championship because of popular voting? Would you rather have an undefeated Vols team voted out of the national championship game or have a chance to play for it?

So if UT is the odd man out between 3 schools deserving to play for the championship, you're cool with it?

How often is it that one of the most deserving for a championship game bid is below the top 4? If UT isn't good enough, they aren't good enough. Play your guts out for the top 4.

OK State certainly had a legitimate argument. I think they got it right given the circumstances, but why leave it to rankings and points when you can determine it on the field?

It's stupid to have a play-off for the conference championship...it's called the regular season. Win your division and you play for the conference championship. No reason for an extra game. The +1 model makes the most sense.

It is horrendous that anyone would ask DD his opinion of a college football playoff. What in the world would that ever have to do with him?

Thats only 3 more games. We already play the conference championship games and NC game. I'd gladly do this and even give up either the Georgia State, Troy or Akron game. There is at least one game a year on everyone's regular season schedule that most fans would gladly do without.

You are not going to lose the last game of your season and still make top 4 to get in the playoffs.. So while I understand your point, I just don't see it being possible.
