He keeps his job and it's the best record he'll have as a HC.

This pretty much sums it up. Although Dooley is a smart guy who's been around some great coaches. He obviously wasn't ready for the UT job, but I still hold out a modicum of hope that the last two years have provided him with enough on-the-job learning to make him good. Or at least significantly better.

It's hilarious to watch people twist and turn and try to reason out why Tennessee hasn't been a good team for awhile.

I'm hoping for 10-2 or 7-5 and Gruden.

Exactly. The problem with that is if Bray, Rogers, and Hunter leave and he follows it up with 7-5, does Tennessee have the stones to fire Dooley?

I get the feeling that he is intelligent, but I don't think he has nearly what it takes to win in the SEC.

We'd better. If you're in your 4th year and can't win without the QB Lane left you, that's a problem. Really like to think it doesn't come to that, but chances are not small.

I'm not convinced either, but I hope he convinces both of us. I do think he's never going to shut down like the end of last year again. That's a mistake you don't make twice.

Good to know.

Not what I said. It just appears that most of the dipchit commentary comes from those who didn't.

It could very well be if we win 9 this year his level of intelligence becomes irrelevant. Pete Carroll is a moron that is more of a cheerleader than a football coach, yet he has 2 national championships because he played to his strengths. He mainly focused on recruiting which is something that he was good at. Dooley has shown that he can evaluate talent finding players like Brian Randolph and Jordan Williams, and we are sitting in a good position with many top 100 recruits right now we just have to win. Plus things are setting up such that if we win this year the 2014 class will be one of the most talented classes we have ever brought in.

Pete Carroll is also a very good defensive mind. To say he was only a "cheerleader" is ridiculous.
