I guess in your fantasy world things are backwards. I never said WKU was good because they hung in with KY. Try to keep up.

No but you implied Kentucky was a mess because Western Kentucky hung with them. It is the exact same argument only difference is one way fits your agenda and the other does not.

So you think ky beats UT that day without the running WR playing qb and their 1st stringer instead?
No they don't.

Kentucky also doesn't beat Tennessee if not for the idiotic decision to try some gimmick offense we clearly hadn't practiced enough when we got down inside the ten down by a field goal.

Not sure what point you are trying to make.

I don't think any concoction of UK's lineup should have beaten TN. But they did. That's the point.

I was actually pointing out the lunacy of the post I quoted. It was, is, and forever shall be a big deal. It's a bigger deal when you consider they had 15 yards passing offense. Not too hard to figure out what they were going to do.

THIS! The supposed offensive leaders DID NOT show up to play that day. I guess I missed something because when I played HS ball and having coached HS kids, I didn't see our coaches whipping us into a frenzy and "getting us fired up". They gave us the tools, the knowledge, and the game plan to win. If we (or the kids that I helped coach) believed in the game plan, the coaches, and THEMSELVES, we/they went out and won. If they needed to be spoon fed, they lost. It's pretty simple. By the time you are at the SEC level, it should be business on game day. Go out and get the job done and win with class or take your loss with head held high because you played your butt off. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN at the KY Jelly game. The O came into that game with their heads up their collective butts and showed the coaches, the fans, and the rest of the nation what a bunch of babies they truly were. That my friends, is where my fears for 2012 lie. I hope against hope that the team that took the field against KY Jelly is an embarrasing past and that we will see T Bray grow up and lead, D Rogers be a player instead of a playa, and a couple of O Linemen threaten to beat their backsides if they don't grow up. Rant over....that is all

Edit: And what many don't understand is that there is a BIG difference between motivated and being ready to play. The first is the players responsibilty, the second the coaches. The problem is, when you don't have the first, it is going to look like the 2nd is the problem.

I keep trying to forget about it but fellow Vol fans bring it up more than anyone else. But to answer...probably every single game and more times than they mentioned how big Stokes shoes were ;)

KY was a mess before they set foot on the field against WKU. It's a shame you couldn't ask me back then about it. I would have told you that KY would likely struggle. It's because they had little talent and questionable (at best) coaching. It's an even bigger shame that Tennessee lost to that pitiful team in a weakened state at the end of the year.

If the idea was to help decrease the number of times that our loss in a crucial game to a horrendous horrendous kentucky team is mentioned on this board, I would respectfully submit that starting a new thread about it was arguably not the best strategy.

Just my opinion.

Simply that Ky squad should have been knocked out by Halftime. It was the most pathetic offensive performance I have ever seen from us. Dooley used up all his Good Will that day with me. There arent anymore excuses. Talent is everywhere and Depth is good. If we lose to NC State and Florida then I want Dooley gone. The Defense looks good and the Offense looks like it could be incredible. We havent had talent like this in a while.

I think being undefeated when October rolls should be expected not hoped for. Looking at it I think BAMA, SC, and Georgia are the only games we can lose and Dooley keep his job.

I know its harsh but looking at our talent and experience I expect nothing less than a 9-3 record this year. Anything less then Dooley needs to be out. LOL not saying I'm being fair but that KY game made me Bitter. Its time for UT to be feared again. I am sick and tired of watching Youtube videos of the Glory Days. Its time my Vols to take some respect back.

Yeah, CDD dropped a bunch of passes that game, and all those fumbles he had, not to mention all the FG's he missed.....Yeah, CDD PLAYED a terrible game that day since he didn't want to go to a lower tier bowl and all.
