Here is the schedule:

NC State - W
GA State - W
Florida - W
Akron - W
@ Georgia - L
@ Miss State - L
Bama - L
@ USC - L
Troy - W
Mizzou - W
@ Vandy -W
KT - W

Looking at this scenario, 8 wins is pretty doable. Don't know much about Miss State and Mizzou??
Listed Mizzou as a win since by the time we play them they will have faced the meat of an SEC schedule.

peoples expectations sometimes differ from what they believe will happen.

My expectations are to compete for a championship. That is not what I think will happen this fall though.

We are about a 7 win team. With some crazy things that can happen (see UNC and LSU), that could alter 7 wins to 6 or 8 easily so that is middle ground on where I think this team is. about a 6-8 win club.

That could change after fall practice and before the season. Tennessee, as well as those teams we play, will likely lose one or more contributors before the season begins. Happens every year and could impact what the final thoughts on the record are.

but right now, that is about what I think they are.

We're probably an 8-win team that should win 9 or even 10, if we're firing on all cylinders. I expect we'll lose to Bama, UGA and USCe. We may also drop one to MSU, Mizzou or UF, bringing us to 8. Anything less will likely lead to major house cleaning. If we go 8-4 and UF is one of the losses, that would be tough. Of course, if we lose a big chunk of the team to this academic rumor, then we might need to look ahead to b-ball.

If I remember right I think we have a bye week before the Miss St game. I think coming off the UGA game we will have a chance to prepare well against Miss St. They under achieved last year and I don't think they really improved a whole lot.

That being said I think we can beat Miss St. Now, we may lose to someone else but I tend to agree with what you have there.

GO VOLS!!!

Yes Missou is a wildcard but is a home game, soooo?
Assuming FL is a win and adding a MSU win, then 9 is not out the question and I would be very happy with 9!
Of course injuries and the kicking game could change all this drastically.

I'm with you there. I hope we stay healthy.

If we can win all of the ones we are supposed to (I'm claiming we should beat Florida) and then steal one from UGA or USC then this season could possibly be a special one.

With UGA there is no telling because something crazy always happens when we play them.
USC is gonna be tough defensively and if Lattimore is healthy they will really test our new defensive scheme.

Either way, if the ball bounces our way, for a change, we could win 10 games...that's what I am hoping for.

GO VOLS!!!

I am not speaking for what the fan base as a whole expects --it's pretty obvious that anyone under the age of 20 around here has grown accustomed to mediocrity and will likely accept it-- I am just giving my expectations. 9 is a par. Anything more is a birdie or better. To me, the teams that we do it against doesn't matter. I will enjoy wins against Bama and Florida more. But those won't make up for losing to Vandy and Kentucky (if we do.)
LOL

You know enough about it to make this kind of absolute statement?? Still LOL

Where and when did you coach and/or evaluate players on a daily basis.

BTW, I say par is 8 wins and I am certain I've been a fan for longer than you've been alive

Earlier in the year it was East Champions and after O\W game, feeling remains. Anything better than that would be a 1998 type season......

AT LEAST 8 wins. Even then I'd only be marginally satisfied.
