| #27 = Freight Train on the blocked field goal return and #20 was unstoppable. IMHO one of the most unsung heroes in the last 40 years...Tee Martin. For where he started to being our champion to where he is now is an awesome story.
No more of this crap guys. I am 52 years old and mean as a snake but two days in a row shedding tears for the Vols is enough, sadness yesterday and nostalgic joy today. I need a break!!! If you didn't shed a tear for either one of these, you ain't a VFL! |

Let's brag about beating UF that year, crushing UGA and Bama..........not this game. Hardly "glory days". | Wait a min Fade, if I remember correctly, we got a bad call in the first half that would have given us a TD and the game actually would not have been where it was. I don't remember if it was a 14 pt swing or not, but it was called incorrectly and it cost us points. |

Had TN lost even one game that year....we would have been out of contention. But, we were down 21-3 at one point, so the fact that we were able to get back to the point that a fluke miss step gave us the game was pretty exciting too. |

| | 13-14 in handshakes | Billy Ratliff pushed Burlsworth back into Clint and that led to the fumble. It wasn't "luck" that caused the fumble, it was a DL dominating an OL. |

I remember having to drive down the field and score a TD during the final seconds of the game, when Arkansas had stopped our offense for the majority of the game.
Players make plays. Billy Ratliff made two awesome plays that helped decide that game. He beat his man so bad and knocked the guard into Stoerner, making him fumble, then he recoved the fumble. Then Travis Henry put the team on his back and carried several Arky defenders down the field for the game winning TD. Give the guys some credit for making plays when they needed them the most, both offensively and defensively.
What an amazing season to be able to witness first hand. We'll be back on top again soon.

| The Vols won their sixth national title after defeating Florida State in the Fiesta Bowl, the first BCS National Championship Game. The '98 Vols beat eight bowl teams, including six January bowl teams, four top ten teams, and three BCS bowl-bound teams. The 1998 Tennessee Volunteers are ranked as the #3 college football team of all time by the Billingsley Report computer ratings.
